Home.

I just returned home after something like 40 days on the road. I worked in various climates and landscapes all across the country, and had some lovely experiences with wonderful people. This week, I am easing back into a routine that makes sense for me at home.

That is always a struggle. After I am gone for so long, sometimes I feel like a foreigner to my own environment and community. I have learned to treat my home like anywhere else that I travel; That is, I must find aspects of my environment that give me the feeling of home, and create a new routine.

Here, in Jersey, those aspects include the ocean and my grandfather. My grandfather is in a nursing home, so he is also struggling with the feeling of being a foreigner in his environment. I'm also working to figure out how to create a routine that revolves around him. I want him to feel comfortable and loved, especially in that environment.

As such, I will be spending most of the summer at home, and putting a lot of my effort into my Patreon projects to sustain me, so that I can give my grandfather all the support he needs through this time.

For example, I will be launching my books on my website this Saturday.

Did you know I have a website? Probably not. I'm working on it.

If there is anything specific that you would like to see come to fruition here, let it be known. I am making the transition towards these projects.

Above is a portrait I made last week, and is the narrative of what 'home' feels like in the Midwest.

XO.
