As I work on 'The Notion of Home,' another aside;
Wading in a Woodstock waterfall with my beautiful friend, Nala. Shot 3-4 years ago by Photosensualis. This was such a warm and wonderful day (aside from Nala lying down in stinging nettle). Whenever Nala and I are together, there is an enormous amount of giggling going on.
Today is a dreary winter day in Jersey, so I will think about crisp cedar water on a hot July day.
February patron packages are going out today, so some of you are in for a treat!
It's been a hectic week. I just returned from visiting my family in Virginia and am gearing up for a tour to Mexico and Florida. Packing, Patreon-ing, Grandpa-ing, bill paying, getting 3 busted pipes fixed...... And I have not been the most efficient at completing tasks this week. I keep breaking and/or misplacing things. I can't even blame quitting coffee, I've been back on the sauce all month.
When I was in Virginia I swapped vehicles with my sister. She took my truck so she could more easily move her things. I forgot my house keys on her keychain, so I had to hammer my way into my house at 11:30PM.
In the last two weeks, I have gone through 3 phone chargers, and I lost the third one last night in the wind. So until I'm ready to face the world of people, and spend yet another $15 on a phone cord, I have no cellphone.
Which means, more time at my table, where I will hopefully produce something worth looking at. So for you, it's a win-win.
I'm hoping everyone enjoyed my last post.
In the beginning, most feedback was that my audience wanted to see a more personal reflection of who I am. It seems as though when I dump some of my more raw and vulnerable work, my audience falls silent. Which I understand, being that it's emotionally challenging work, but it does leave me second guessing and wondering if I should pull back on posting that work.
I realize that when a lot of models reveal their 'personal' or 'candid' side, it means more 'selfies' and personable chit chat. Which, in my opinion, is usually not actually their personal/candid side, it's their social media side.
Most of my patrons know me well enough to know that while I might take my work a little too seriously, I am personable and approachable. That being said, I always encourage feedback and conversation on this platform. It helps me know if I'm fulfilling my role as far as my audience is concerned.
Be well.
