You knew
Like Eurydice,
I would never fit
Inside the perimeter
Of your normalcy;
In a single glance
I would become
Premonition
Of preterition.
Still, you plunged.
Caring not
How deeply
You would descend
Into the sultry darkness
Of Persephone's parlor.
That rabbit kept running
After time;
Out of tune,
Your lyre drunk
In Dionysian forest.
And wouldst thou
Resist the taste
Of Eurydice?
Her box reading,
"Eat me;"
Her flesh
To be made sacred
At the disposal
Of your propitious mouth.
You were thirsty,
And drowning.
And then it was...
Business
As usual.
And won't you miss
The absurdity?
So long,
And thank you
For genuine moments
Hidden forever
In experimental
Obscurity,
Lost in the shadows
Of your soul.
Thank you
For the total abandon
Of your quiet anonymity
These 24 ribs
Will not forget
Smiling into the axis
Of wood worker's hands.
