Sorry for my silence the last few days.
I've been in Hawaii with a good photographer friend, Patrick; Animal Magik Photography.
Here's a peek at what we've been up to.
I have barely been online at all. I have an overwhelming number of photographs, but have not spent any time sifting through and editing.
We have been up and out, adventuring from early morning til late evening, every day. It's been nice to have my routine priorities involve being outside in the varying foreign landscapes that Hawaii offers, and not focusing on tedious desk work or familial obligations. I am very fortunate to have this time and space in such a beautiful part of our planet. These little reprieves keep me inspired.
This morning we went snorkeling, and had planned to end the day by hiking up into an inactive volcano crater to shoot. However, while at the bay, I was stung by a bee, and had to make a pharmaceutical detour for Benadryl. So we are taking the afternoon off to rest and regroup. I'm going to utilize this time to harvest some imagery for you... in between my Benadryl naps.
It looks like Irma will spare my little house in Jersey, to my relief. So I can return to writing on my segment, 'on the notion of home,' with less anxiety.
Also, my little sister started college this week and is taking on her own responsibilities. I'm feeling proud and relieved.
Will be back in Jersey and on the grind again September 14th. In October, I begin my tour to Moab. If I might be passing through your area, let me know if you're interested in shooting.
Also a reminder; if you come out to The Desert Adventure, you have a patron discount!

PS: Those of you in and around the areas impacted by the hurricane, know that you are in my thoughts. Be safe and I will think good thoughts for you.
