Morning Fix

Are you afraid of the dark, or is the light more difficult to adjust to?

For me, the evening is a celestial harbor; into whose welcoming darkness I enter to shed profane assignments and the respective expectations tied there.

The light, and the other who resides there, can be left to the day.

The evening is a blanket of refuge for resting bodies, whilst respective souls enter into the infinitude of unconsciousness- ultimate consciousness, where they confidently transcend the physical boundaries imposed upon them in the daylight.

Regardless of your spiritual or religious beliefs, I would imagine the majority of us agree that the evening is a place where we can be removed from our physical and societal garments, judgments, expectations, preconceived notions, items of insecurity... and enter into a void of sorts, whereby we are very much composers of our own being for an ephemeral few hours.

Until, of course, we are stirred to- Some of us by the first light of the sun, some by the voice of a child, some by the jarring buzz of an alarm clock- At which point we are called upon to join the others in a highly orchestrated chaos of doing, serving, having, working; being-in-the-world.

What is your fix? What eases you into your being in the world? Moreover, what complicates your being in the world, but imposes itself upon you anyway? What rituals must you perform in contingency to yourself, for yourself, in spite of yourself?

These questions play significant roles in my being, and thus have inspired me to exhibit my own abstract and philosophical interpretation of 'The Morning Fix.'

Stay tuned, as I will be sharing outtakes, small writings, and even behind the scenes shots of my process as this project realizes itself.
