Hello! Part 2 of this month's update is focused on mutiplayer-And we're covering a few things. First of all- Our VS screen multiplayer screen got completely updated UI wise and here's a preview of the new current VS screen theme created by StriderTempxa- Who just joined our crew as a composer. We're leaning on that Y2K vibe with an EDM/House vibe to all our tracks.

Queen Kyu is currently deep into her move design era, and we are working on preproduction regarding her moveset. Considering that she's a hybrid grappler this has required a bit more of up front design as compared to Volley. Considering Kyu is technically 2 characters in one some fun ideas popped up.
Ash on our team came up with the idea that the mech could grab opponents and then Kyu could jump out to execute the grab functions. This includes scratch attacks, uppercuts and other functionality.

The other idea is that Queen Kyu will have lower mobility due to her sheer size, so she'll use tools (Minions) that she can launch to slow or snare opponents to allow her to close distance. Mixed with some electric defensive properties and you've got a nasty mix of abilities without being overtly a heavy bruiser.

Another idea was a variant in which Queen Kyu's mech can grab and then flash kick an opponent. This kind of gives all her moves a unique flavor in which the mech isn't doing all the work and it's in your face and personal.


An early idea for anti-air included an aerial pounce style grab and a ground throw, which we might still use to give a funny cat themed flavor to her grab. This was before we considered some electric properties for Kyu:
Where she'll channel electric force through her guantlets to deliver a nice ass shock to any opponents attempting to make an aerial approach. In general Kyu will have a good varied kit of keep away tools and up front pressure, whereas future characters like Czar will rely much more on pure tankiness and heavy damage throws.
We worked with our designers to come up with a good kit that will place Kyu directly into a hybrid territory playstyle wise...Think Abel from Street Fighter 4 with some extra tools to pressure opponents.
New Queen Kyu's model, complete with bean eyes™ is also complete and reay to fly. We'll have some more updates regarding work in engine and actual anims coming up as we're jumping between work on Queen Kyu and Kiera production wise.
