You should do them almost upright but tilted a few degrees to one side so that the bottom is down. Most of the supports go on the bottom reducing the blemishes on detail and cleanup work on the top. You dont want to make them flat because it creates a huge amount of suction on the FEP which causes warping, failures, or a need for much stronger supports.

2020-05-02 22:39:19 +0000 UTCDylan's bases are awesome, please give him my thanks! I've been working on Aztec bases for my current army. Does anyone have advice for supporting bases, though? Seems like it should be simple, but I either a) have a really tough time prying them off the build plate if I do it flat or b) have some slight warping and sanding needed on bottom due to heavy supports.
