An early version of "Ballerina Guinevere", except in this version I was leaning more towards a "space-baroque" dancer. This was also before our wonderful art director, Amber Blade Jones, nailed down her signature buns so for a while I would draw her with these messier (and more annoying to animate) hair styles. One thing with Gwen is she went through MANY MANY iterations before we solidified her look. Andi and Frankie went through quite a few design options as well but Gwen definitely took the longest. Luckily, because of her role in the story, we got to reuse some of those old ideas for the pilot! And even luckier we had our amazing character designer, Daun Han, improve on those ideas.
The nurses, on the other hand, were one of the rare cases that I had such a clear vision for that their concept to final are nearly 1 to 1. The only exploration I did before that were a couple illegible scribbles in a notebook. Designing characters is always the hardest thing for me, so when I have moments of clarity like that it's one of the best feelings in the world haha.
