Modding Diary - Giving Birth Alone

Hi guys! I hope you all are well! This week I released another bug fix update for the child birth mod (v3_3). This update is not required for all players, but it does fix a few important issues that has been affecting some player's game. If you are having issues with midwifes not showing up, this update should fix it for you.

Besides that I have been making some moodlets for the "show pregnancy test" interaction, these moodlets are once again drafted by the wonderful bjorndaunicor 💗

here's a preview for three of them

this happy moodlet is for sims who do not have the "hates children" trait

and the sad moodlets are fore sims who do have the "hates children" trait (or sims who are having an unwanted pregnancy using RPO)

I also started working on the interaction that allows sims to give birth alone. Im really happy to say everything has been going very smoothly according to plan. I know many of you wanted to be able to pick the bassinets for bed birth and water birth, while that is still impossible at the moment I was able to get it to work for the give birth alone interaction.

So all you need to do is placing down a bassient of your choice

and select the "Have Baby" interaction with the special icon

and your sim will start giving birth. 🐣🐣

and here is what the animation looks like, keep in mind this is still an unfinished work-in-progress

the pregnant sim will begin moaning while holding their stomach

they will get down on their knees

and get down on all fours while trying to push

they get back up on their knees again (they will go up and down a couple of times)

and that's all the animation I have for now

I should be able to finish this animation by next week, and then I will get started on the last set of animation which is the ultrasound scan animation. After that I will need to work on the tuning(programming) part of the mod which includes birth emergencies, C-section Scars and stretch marks.
