Unleash the Deep

As she begins to stash small trinkets and vials she sees a large book placed on a pedestal within the center of the chamber. It calls to her, it seems almost irresistible to take a peek at whats on the pages. Every few minutes Minerva finds herself turning towards book then rapidly pulling herself away.
"Alright, calm down. It's probably just a dusty inventory list or even.. uh- a guest book or something. Can't hurt to take just a small peek. Hm?" She plucks up the courage to march towards the book and places her hands on it's pages. The book glows to her touch letting out a subtle humming that increases in intensity the more she reads. Just then two candles light up beside her and the room suddenly feels cold, the air thick and moist.
"FEEEEL... MAGIC.... SUMMON.... INTRUUUDERRR...."
Loud rumbling can be heard all around the room, monstrous soaking tentacles explode from the room, burrowing in towards Minerva who stands frozen at the pedestal. The last thing she can remember is seeing dozens of green eyes bulge from the tentacles looking her up and down, analyzing the girl who dared look upon it's pages.
"BEAUTY... MMMMM... FEEEEL... ENTANGLE... ENSSSSLAVE..."
