Tomb Raider of the Serpent Stone

The closest village claimed the ancient relic granted control over giant snakes from around the temple. However, those unworthy of the stone would be perused by those very creatures as some sort of tribute. Interesting tale, likely a myth passed down to keep trespassers out of their sacred grounds...
