Jun Ji Hyun has always been super selective, she's only done 4 dramas, including this, in the last 20+ years. Meanwhile, this is Kang Dong Won first drama in 21 years. Even though they've been working for this long, this is their first time working together, so people were extremely excite (and desperate for romance between their characters). Koreans kept leaving comments asking them to do a romcom together (they are both great at comedic roles) after seeing their steamy romantic scenes 😁
