The cylinder-lid is not copium btw, it is science-based/proven lol xD = Inside the cylinder heat keeps escaping upward continuously, but there is no strong sideways mixing, the air around the noodles slowly becomes uniformly warm, not hot. (very hot - warm - warm for a longer time). By blowing on the noodles (inside the cylinder) you force convection and strip away humid air - you restart evaporation aggressively - causes very rapid cooling. Instead, if the noodles are above the cup, the heat conducts up from submerged noodles, steam bath continues and evaporation stays suppressed

2025-06-27 16:03:45 +0000 UTCThat cup ramyeon hack is actual thing, if you put noodles in there and eat right away the difference might not be big but if you wait few secs or blow on it you won't burn your mouth anymore, you can say you can blow on it while picking from cup itself but some parts of noodles are always still in hot soup so it doesn't work out, plus it's more comfortable to eat like that because you don't get splashes on clothes when you slurp noodles, you can adjust bite sizes, you can put noodles there and put kimchi or other side dish on top etc....
