Why are you being so rude? They may not like the sound of that goat, please respect them.🤦🏻‍♀️

The actor who played Dong-ryong is a film actor. He is an actor, not a comedian. He just fits well in comedic roles and portrays them well, but he is not a stand-up comedian. The movie Extreme Job is really fun, haha. It was hugely popular in Korea!😆

The lead actress in The World of the Married is Kim Hee-ae, not Lee Mi-yeon. They are different people.

this is one of my favorite episodes.. from the sobangcha performance to the torked (torqued?..is this how you spell it? lol)scene and clumsy Dukseon. This is the episode that got me hooked. BTW Dong ryong is a comedian in real life. I'm not sure if you guys have watched his film Extreme Job, a hit action comedy...but it's a must watch.

This show brings back many nostalgic feelings maybe because I grew up close to the era ..and live in this type of community back in my country .....also idk why I found the sound effects kinda funny lol ... I hope it didn't affect you guys too much haha.

Counting and complaining every time goat sounds come is getting equally annoying as goat sound

The goat sound effect is like a signature of the Reply series. I guess since we grew up watching Korean variety shows, we’re really used to those kinds of sound effects. But for foreigners, 100 out of 100 people seem to hate it. LOL. To be fair, there were some Koreans who didn’t like it either, but for the most part, we didn’t find it weird. I think the director of this drama originally worked as a PD for Korean variety shows, which is probably why they combined variety-style elements into the drama. In this show, they use the goat sound effect whenever the main characters do something ridiculous or embarrassing. That sound effect keeps appearing until the very last episode, so even if you’re not used to it, you just have to accept it and keep watching. 🤣😆😆😱

Back in those days, Korea had an incredible sense of community. You could walk into any house with an open door and have a meal. Everyone left their front doors open, and people freely visited one another, knowing exactly who lived upstairs or downstairs and what they did for a living. If you couldn’t get into your house because you didn’t have a key, you would simply ring the neighbor’s doorbell. Without asking why, the neighbor would kindly let you in, and you’d stay there, eating meals, snacks, and even dessert until your mom came home. People would intentionally cook large portions so they could send their kids to share food with the neighbors upstairs, downstairs, or next door. In return, they would receive a couple of tangerines, apples, or a dish from that night’s dinner. This was just a part of everyday life. When playing outside, if you got hungry or thirsty, you could walk into any open home and say, “Auntie, can I have a glass of water? Auntie, I’m hungry.” Without hesitation, they would reply, “Of course,” and serve you a meal and a drink. Respect and manners were also important. When calling a friend’s house, you would politely say, “Hello, this is ○○. May I play with ○○ after finishing my homework?” If you spoke rudely, the adult on the other end would simply hang up and tell you to call back properly. When making plans to play, kids would often arrive way earlier than the agreed time and wait for their friends. Sometimes, without even planning ahead, they would just show up outside a friend’s house, calling out, “○○, let’s play!” Kids would play at the neighborhood playground until they heard their mother’s voice calling them for dinner from afar. On weekends, families would gather with neighbors to share dinner together—that was the charm of those days. This was Korea in the 1900s to 2000s.
