I hope front man goes back into the game, him being there undercover was the most fun part of all of this. In this case I think at the end gihun, frontman and pregnant girl will be left, gihun will take out frontman and himself for the girl to live. I just can't handle stupid character like gihun to stay alive again and maybe comeback if they decide on season 4...let's just get rid of him

2025-01-01 08:00:24 +0000 UTCI also felt they spent way too much time trying to forcefeed the relationships between some players without really taking it anywhere worthwhile. Lots of wasted potential and big names without a real payoff. I was entertained by parts of the show like you guys were...but also felt like they also ditched the rules from Season 1. It's almost like they ditched masks much more often to show famous faces...and then like why did the hostage square recognise the Frontman? He shouldn't have never seen him. And then there's Noeul and Junho being even less than a subplot. All in all, Squid Game was only ever meant to be just a 1 season show. The writer spent a decade developing it. This season plus a season 3 feels like they maybe shouldn't have happened. Would've probably been happier for them to create a movie sequel to show more of the Frontman, recruiter and pink soldiers' side. If anything, I felt the main character from this season was Youngil rather than Gihun. Haha.

At the same time, we really shouldn't be surprised at Gihun's bad plan. I mean, the man decided to come back to end the whole game by taking a tracker and telling everyone he has played it before...the fact the cop and everyone else went with that was pretty laughable. Even if he doesn't know any better because he's not known for his smarts doesn't mean that Junho and the ex-military guys should be like 'yeah, sounds like a plan'. Lol. As for Youngil's purpose, I'd say that from start to finish of this season, he wanted to challenge/test Gihun's belief that people will care more about others than their own greed/desires. Youngil feels like his philosophy is reinforced more and more as Gihun gradually gets to the point of saying they should sacrifice some people for the greater good...then Youngil's work is done and he returns to being the Frontman. He wants to keep Gihun alive to probably do a reveal and drive the point home as Gihun is blinded by what he thinks is righteous or for the greater good without realising he has already changed to become more and more like Youngil.

2025-01-01 07:52:26 +0000 UTCThe Empire Strikes Back season... I agree it felt incomplete, and maybe it was meant to feel incomplete? Made me think that both season 2 and 3 should be 1 full kdrama season but Netflix execs decided to split it. A lot of setup maybe for the final season, which I hope would make the story complete. A theory that came to my mind is, what if the rebellion was the "special game" and not the night riot between O and X. And the real motivation of the Front Man is to turn Gi-hun to their mindset, which on this episode we can see Gi-hun is getting blurred on his philosophies by allowing to sacrifice a few for the good of the many. Well, hopefully season 3 resolves the story in a satisfying way.
