You are punishing without providing a positive framework. In Germany (where I'm from) this type of physical punishment in an educational context was called black pedagogy by the new teachers/ education reformers in the 1970s when they reformed the whole education system. Since then physical punishment has been forbidden in Germany, at least in schools. Later on it was made illegal for a parent to hit their child. It's sad that this is still legal in some countries.

At the same time his "temper" is unacceptable and not funny. And for sure, Bok-Joo made a mistake. But you won't solve her mis-guided thinking and immaturity by screaming at her and driving her to tears. At least the coach tried to understand her, but even she with her stick... Violence is not the answer. End of my tedtalk. 😅
