we all need a huiseong in a friend group

emotionless bot

Also there is someone in this drama that you guys didn't recognize, it's Dahye from Queen Of tears (Haein's brother's wife) She is mistress of Lee Sehun. Also Aeshin's sister who has gambling addiction you know her too, she is from descendants of the sun, that annoying high pitched doctor who was always beefing with Moyeon.

I feel like in last scene Eugene decided to start something with Aeshin only because to get revenge on Huiseong. Not saying he doesn't have genuine feelings for Aeshin but I feel like at this point he only stepped up because he was mad & wanted revenge. I feel like you guys saw his action as more romantic thing but when I first watched it I remember thinking "Oh this is not good there is bad intention behind his action"...so idk...

Yes, by telling her that sheโ€™s just a noble fool who lives in luxury Dongmae basically showed her how narrow her worldview was, how far removed she was from the average personโ€˜s daily experience and how little her presence benefited the masses. He essentially told her she was useless.

Guys, she doesnโ€™t know what โ€œloveโ€ is, they use the English word. She only knows itโ€™s a difficult but grand thing to do and you canโ€™t do it alone, and she chose Eugene to do it with, no matter what it may be ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Even though the traditional social hierarchy system had collapsed at this time, the way of living and beliefs hadn't changed sufficiently enough. When slavery existed, the slaves were, as awful as it is to say, were practically equivalent to domestic animals. And butchers were comparable to the untouchables (not an exact comparison but it was just that bad). So the magnitude of the divide in social hierarchy among Ae-shin, Eugene, and Dong-mae isn't quite so simply that "she's noble and rich, I can't have her." It's more like, you're a literal pig the animal and you want to be in love with a human--it's incomprehensible and unthinkable by the standards of the time. And I think it's important to acknowledge that even though Ae-shin tries to be "woke" for her time and do what's right, she's been sheltered, living life as the noble lady everyone treats like a princess all her life. So while she thinks she knows a lot about what's up in the world, there's a lot that she doesn't understand yet. Like, when she first saved Dong-mae and he called her out on her crap (quoting Confucius, like fr) she had a rude awakening to the privilege that she was born into. And she will have some more rude awakenings to come.
