About the beginning of the episode: I think the ghost possessed him when he was a child and his mom was trying to protect him by going east, she died while trying to get rid of her, I think she may have been successful at locking the ghost in the hair accessory, thats why she asks him if it was her or him who killed his mom.

2024-07-10 16:45:46 +0000 UTCDid I understand correctly that starting next week there will be 2 episodes of Revenant? :) For the name (Choi) Manwol, it's definitely a rather old-fashioned name, same as Mokdan. Idk if there's more to the name Manwol in Korean history/folklore but it does indicate the time when they were alive. The detective Seo Munchun for example also has an old-fashioned name but to be fair he is pretty old lol

Around 1880, they started mixing in Hangul(Korean alphabet), and by 1970, the government was all about using just Hangul. So nowadays, a lot of young people don't know much about Chinese characters. That's why when San-young got asked if she knew Chinese, she kinda panicked and lied. If you watch closely, you can see her sketching out each character and googling.
