Honestly, it's such a good sign of the writers if the controversy in the show is also as much a controversy in the audiences eyes. You guys should've seen knetz and other audiences on this matter when it was airing! Take in, that this show and the aftermath of the gold metal controversy is in Heedo's perspective, so of course it's easy to side with her. But also, if Heedo had lost and she believed the ref had made a bad call, she would've also disputed the call and cried on stage like a normal hard working athlete. And if Yurim had used the same example of who was faster with Yijin, the example would've still been really convincing. That said, at face value, the ref's word is final in any sport, bad call or not. And with all that in mind, Heedo still won here.

2024-02-24 06:56:01 +0000 UTCLike I mentioned, if u watched the scene, the moment they both hit, yurim watched to see what the refs call was, almost like she wasn’t sure who actually got the point. While heedo celebrated right away cuz she knew. I don’t think Yurim had any bad intentions but there is also a chance that she just wanted it so bad that made her truly believe she hit first when she was told she wasn’t. Either way tho even she ended up realizing how she acted wasn’t right, but she didn’t realize how people would react so I don’t fault her for that as she is also still a kid.

So it must’ve been a close call in reality to tell. Even if you’re the ref at these things you could still be wrong but what he says goes. So I understand yurim.

2024-01-27 15:37:11 +0000 UTCThe thing is, if u go back and see that last point, from the moment they both attacked and the light went up, Hee-do screamed cuz she KNEW she was faster, while the first thing Yu-rim did was look at the ref for his call BEFORE he even said “stop” that right there should be proof that Hee-do Was faster. Because it means Yurim wasn’t even sure. The way she acted made her look like a spoilt kid who didn’t get what they wanted (and it sucks cuz I know she also worked hard for the medal) but if Hee-do was the one who acted like that, the public would have reacted VERY differently to that.
