No, this isn't a post griping about Nolan's Batman Begins.
It is a post to let you know that I'm finally buckling down and grappling with The Bat.
Batman is far and away my #1 most-request new character to add to Crushing Comics and it's finally time to figure out how to handle him. Really, he's not so different than my initial foray into X-Men guides all those years ago - each title is its own little puzzle to work out. It just so happens the same character stars in all the titles.
I think I've been letting my obsession with reading orders and knowing how everything connects get in the way of making solid guides. The X-Men guides would have NEVER happened if I started out by trying to create them in a perfectly interlaced reading order. They each started as their own trade reading order and evolved from there.
With my Bat-Grapple come a few questions for you - and, I'm making this a public post to get the widest possible array of opinions:
1. In what order should I produce Bat-Title Guides? Oldest to newest? Newest first? Any damn way I feel?
2. Should I complete all of Batman's major titles before working on Superman titles? Or, should I alternate between them? (They represent over 20 pages between them - almost as many as X-Men + Avengers!)
3. If you care about Batman and Superman, do you care about Pre-Crisis stories/collections? Or, should I keep my focus on Post-Crisis stories for now? (Wonder Woman's pre-Crisis history was a bit of a slog, and she only starred in a handful of titles!)
