I mean I kind of understood why the brother would know before eungyeol because heβs older and it seems even though eungyeol is the one who can speak the dad seems to be closer to the older brother in the present future. I think because of the rage that was building up in eungyeol.

Honestly it's something I could get past as a minor flaw, and the show has been entertaining thanks to that plan of hers. it's just that, in order for someone's life trajectory to change, that person has to be directly involved and has to make that life-changing decision themselves - in this case, the real Se-Gyeong - and not someone pretending to be them.

Her plan was probably to find out who the right guy was and then rekindle the relationship, either by sending her mom letters as if she was the guy or by convincing the guy to visit her because she "has to leave and go back to the US". It's flawed since the confusion for both the guy and her mom would be through the roof, but I assume she felt that her mom's obsession with her "first love" would mean even just keeping in contact would mean they'd end up together in the long run.

Let's say she chose Yi-Chan, Eun-Gyeol or someone else as her mom's first love. How does it prevent her from being born? No matter what she did posing as Se-Gyeong here, nothing would affect the real Se-Gyeong who wasn't & wouldn't be here . Life trajectory of the real Se-Gyeong would still go as supposed to - she left Korea and wouldn't come back until much later, and at some point she'd still marry Eun-Yu's dad as supposed to and have Eun-Yu as her daughter. I just don't get it.
