Chapter 83: Persuasions of Corporeal Peril

So there are five different gangs mentioned in this chapters, and I only bothered to name the three most important ones. Rather than admitting to laziness though, I figured I'd make it a patreon benefit and see if you guys might have ideas for their names. If not, you'll at least get to learn a little about my thought process for naming the others. (read the rest of this after the chapter)

Gangs name themselves differently in my setting than modern IRL ones do. Rather than trying to denote ferocity, they typically try to associate themselves with more peaceful nobles. My limited research into this indicating that hares (or rather rabbits if you want to distinguish them) are typically at least middle class animals to own, and thrushes were kept by nobles as pets for their singing.

This is meant to indicate to those they protect (read as extort) that their relationship need not be destructive. That they are capable of emulating the relationship nobles have with their peasants in a stable and co-beneficial manner (or at least what was perceived to be).

The mud in the Mud Hares being more of an 'even though we are of the mud, we have these noble virtues' thing rather than being prideful of the mud qua mud.

The Chance Dancers are more in line with IRL naming schemes as the phrase 'chance dancing' (especially chance dancing leaves, as mentioned before) is an obscenity in this setting (no, I will not tell you why. Have some shame.) and is meant to indicate that they're slightly unhinged (not necessarily ferocious, just unhinged).

The only thing I know about the fourth gang is that they hate the Chance Dancers. Both of which are likely medium sized gangs a little bigger than the first two were at the start of the conflict.

The fifth gang is the most powerful gang in the section and is backed by a noble, likely a powerful one. Their members are equiped nearly on the same level as an imperial soldier.
