So, another thing that the anime changed (besides leaving out kite introduction in episode 1) was that Gyro and Gon were in the same town, I think it was the same town where they met Palm/Knuckle. In the Manga it says, Gon and Jairo(Gyro) did not end up meeting. And Jairo left town this town and disappeared somewhere. And it also says that they will both meet again. So we'll see if Togashi ever goes back to this but it sounds like their paths will collide in the future.
