It's Okay to Not Be Okay Episode 8

We would've done the same thing as Gang-tae

It's Okay to Not Be Okay Episode 8

he literally wasnt using it bro. stop hoarding items you have no use for

Honestly I still dislike that mangtae was given away to her when he gave it to his brother first. Like that’s not okay. Even if he wasn’t using the doll anymore it’s still his and he didn’t ask before he could take it.

Gosh gangtae is so patient.

OMG! Hi! This is exciting hahaha <3

Oh! Meruka! I see you here as well! I think we interacted couple of times in Kevin & David's channel here on patreon before. O.o So, hi! <3

New sub here too! I found you guys on YouTube! Watched this show multiples times, despite the mix reviews on it. I loved the way you guys share your thoughts on it, I share the same sentiments. About the slap, I get where you coming from and it’s confusing. Because he did out of standing up for her. Due to the fact that he’s a caregiver and he is at the hospital, he shouldn’t have used violence against violence. But the Head doctor know why he couldn’t control himself and that’s enough, I think. Everyone who were there at the scene knew why he did what he did. Only, the head nurse knew that the action wasn’t 100% appropriate at the hospital and shouldn’t be overlooked for the hospitals sake.

Thanks for watching! We're glad you are enjoying the reactions. And thanks for the Villainess recommendation. We'll add that to our list for the future!

New sub here…just watched you guys on yt, and I loved ur commentaries. You guys get it!!! You understand the plot so quick and even predict correctly! I’m amazed. I’ve never joined a patron so quick. It’s awesome how you don’t miss even the tiniest details like other reactors. I’ve been a kdrama junkie for a while and you are the first reactors who’ve really impressed me, just with your understanding and appreciation of what the screenwriters and directors are trying to put across with each scene. Just a quick recommendation,… the movie Villainess. It’s my fav action kfilm, the camerawork and action in it was so fine that the creators of John Wick actually ‘stole’ or should I stay copied the motorbike fight scene from it. Kim Ok-Vin, the main actress did the stunts herself. I even prefer it to Man from Nowhere. The camerawork in the first 10 seconds of the film is just pure magic. Please venture into more Korean films, I would love love love more of your commentaries on them

At 28:35, is not that Moon Young felt left out. She noticed Gangtae was getting rained on because he was trying to just cover Sangtae with the umbrella, so Moon Young ran over to them and used her umbrella to cover Gangtae and herself. Moon Young is the first one that notices whenever Gangtae starts to neglect himself, and this is one of those cases.

Yes! In Korea, Subway is more on the high end of chain restaurants.

Meruka Hinaru

At the beginning when Moon Young said "I want a compliment" and approached her head, she did really ask for a pat on the head. It is a common form of affection or praise in Korea :)

Thanks for that explanation! We figured that we might have been missing something and it may have been a different perspective. We're happy he didn't end up getting fired :).

Regarding the caregiver: Don't take it the wrong way... I'm guessing you're american? ;) The biblical eye for an eye? He deserved it? ;) I know... dumb stereotypes about the US... Of course it is emotionally understandable to want to punch that jerk. But the civilized world (outside of the US ;) ) including South Korea has a concept called "excessive force". You're only allowed to use as much force as needed to defend yourself but not more. As a caregiver Gang-Tae is trained and required (as part of his job) to deescalate, break up fights and if needed restraint violent patients or visitors. He does exactly that in the first episode with the patient choking Moon Young (in an even more dangerous situation than a simple slap) and without punching or injuring that patient. He instead used his trainig to tackle and restrain the patient. He could (and should) have done the same thing in this episode. Instead he punched that jerk with full force into the face (and would have continued to beat him into a pulp if not stopped by the others). So yes, it was his job (and the morally right thing) to stop the attack on Moon Young (and the other patient) but using excessive force to do so is a problem. His action was not as bad as slapping someone in the face because he made a bad joke about your wife or as some of the infamous over reactions US police are known for in the press ;). But his action can still be considered to be excessive force, expecially since Gang-Tae has the training (and job) to do better. It might have been judged differently outside of work in a private setting but as emotionally satisfying it is to see the that jerk gettin punched in the face, the director can't let Gang-Tae get away with this behaviour at work. He has to at least suspend him (for a time). Take note, that he didn't fire him and even showed sympathy for his action (see his first remark for self defense).

Subway usually are normal sponsors for Korean drama, Even fans are used to them at this point.. it’s gonna be weird to see a kdrama without Subway😂😂
