It's Okay to Not Be Okay Episode 5

Comments

Oh ok that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up for us

Big Body & Bok

Just want to say that when Ju-Ri was complaining about the way Gang-Tae was talking to her vs Mun-Yeong, she was talking about the fact that in Korea there is a formal and à casual way to talk. What that means is that words and sentences are said differently if you are talking to a stranger vs a friend, or a coworker/boss vs family, etc. Example: Hi/Hello Polite: 안녕하세요 -> annyonghaseyo Casual: 안녕 -> annyong

Hello, i'm new hear but i love your reactions..

strawberry jam

Oh yes I meant she was not well known in a hallyu level...but yes of course she was pretty well known in Korea for sure, my bad😅

Team Moon Young 🙂

Big Body & Bok

Yeah YJ has amazing acting skill.. oh btw she was well known even before she did this drama and ofc she is now too :)

I love how you simp for her because I do too. I freaking love her. And yes, whoever casted this two, amazing job. Moon Gang Tae is played by Kim Soo Hyun the highest paid actor in Korea, at least until recently. Ko Moon Young is played by Seo Yea Ji, she was not very well known until she did this, but if you see other works she's done you'll see how good she 's always been. Now she is in the A-list of Korean industry. And I have a pretty big crush on her I can't help it

Everybody (me included) makes "stupid" theories, especially when watching something the first time (I imagine even more if you comment for a YouTube reaction). :-)

Lol now we feel a little stupid with those theories. Thanks for clearing things up for us so we didn't continue thinking that. Also, appreciate the explanation on Korean Motel culture

Big Body & Bok

to you both: get well soon! hopefully just a cold not the big C-thing! This is such a hilarious episode... The motel scene at the beginning. Moon-young sleeping at Gang-tae's house. Poor adorable Ju-ri whining in bed about Moon-young. Short tangent about motels: Korean motel culture is infamous. There are so many motels in Korea that it has even been nicknamed the "Motel Kingdom". In Korea, motels are known as 'places for people having an affair'. It also has much to do with the conservative Korean sex culture. Sex in Korea is still associated with guilt and shame, so lovers don't have places to freely spend time together. For example pre-marital sex is heavily frowned upon. So if you have an affair, if you are a married couple that at home lives together with your big family (children, parents, grand parents...) or if you want to end a date with some "sexy times", you have to go to a motel. Motels know that and cater to that audience. Korea for example is pretty much the only place in the world where motels rent out their rooms for a certain duration of time during the day. Your confusing theories are... something... :-) Why should Ko Moon-young be broke? The publishing company is broke. It's Mr. Lee's company. She is just an author and still as rich as ever. What hooded figure? No hoods involved anywhere. Thats called "black hair", not "hood". ;-) Why should the daughter of the patient (lady with the pelt) be the "other nurse"? Doesn't make much sense. Also nobody ever even hinted at that and they never interacted with each other at the hospital. Gang-tae "being a coward" refers to the other childhood scene on the flower field (that gets played whenever "coward" is mentioned). There he runs away. The scene with the rejection at the gates of the house has nothing to do with it. That must have been some time earlier. I guess at the flower field he wanted to give it another shot, but she still feared her mother, so she scared him away, ripping all these butterflies apart.
