- Poor Righteous Teachers Rare and Unreleased comp. not so easy to get. Despite the fact it sounds as mastered quite poorly, it's always to get some extra material from one of the finest Golden age conscious rap groups. Also gotta mention ROCK THIS FUNKY JOINT - a dope track from PRT's debut album. Has some dope mixes in it too.
- Pudgee - King Of new York. 10 years ago it was one of the most sought of albums by golden age fans. Discogs page had listed an obscure mad rare cassette version, but everyone wanted to get a proper mastering and a proper rip. In 2016 we got a vinyl reissue and 2017 CD version from Belgian Back 2 Da Source Records. Mad dope! I was one of those who did a pre-order.
- Outlaw Posse - My Afro's on Fire is a certified UK rap classic. In 2007, it was mentioned among 50 Greatest UK hip-hop albums of all time. This discogs comment fairly captures the essence of this album: "Fairly slick production which holds its own against US releases around the same time yet is undeniably a UK sound, less hyped compared to the Hijack, Hardnoise, Bullet crew. Bello B's lyrics aren't overly deep but sit well over the nice bouncy party beats." P.S. Please note that K-Gee and Bello B are planning a return in 2021 and released a single called THE PROPHECY this year [check the preview tracks]. And in case you missed, they dropped a dope MY AFRO'S ON FIRE VOL. 2 release in 2017, might list it as digital cratediggin record in following entries)
So many dope jams and classics in this one, but that was my top3 mentions. Also on this one you get UK parody rap from dope Nottz emcee Styly Cee (his alter ego MC Pitman in here), few old school bits (Maximus 3, Man Parrish, Zero One, Keith LeBlanc's Malcolm X tribute on wax). Some East coast classics as well (sorry for not including PMD among 3 mentions, hes hella dope too). And last but not least - one of the finest Rap-A-Lot early 90's gems O.G. Style debut album + rare MC Overlord (R.I.P.) album from 2003.
... and don't sleep on FU2 tune. Peace!
