Basilisk Id Gifts

Next up are Basil's gifts! You'll notice with the very last one a modification to the level up condition. Brennan was playing with this in mind last session :)

Collapse of the Living

Reflection

Level 1

Chaos Level: The keen scent of disharmony in the air, your ability to sense the lack of rhyme or rhythm, or even reason has been sharpened, drawn out to a point. Your weapon drinks in this chaos and builds and changes in response. Ally or Enemy doesn't matter, despair or joy doesn’t matter. Anything that breeds chaos can be used to build this reflection into whatever strange shape it chooses to take.

You have a chaos meter. It ranges from 0-6. This defaults to the overall chaos level of the world, which the GM will provide for you. You gain a bonus to all Rolls to Do and Rolls to Dye equal to your chaos level so long as it involves this weapon.

As your chaos level increases, the weapon will grow increasingly agitated and this resource can be spent to alter its form, allowing the chaos inside to rip loose.

Form Expansion: You may alter the form of your weapon, paying the corresponding amount of chaos to assume the chosen shape. You may choose to alter the shape of your weapon as part of a roll before or after the result of the roll is decided. At the beginning of your turn, you lose chaos equal to the level of your transformation. The transformation ends when you begin a turn with 0 chaos.

While your reflection’s form is altered, you do not gain the numerical bonuses from your Chaos Level.

Lvl 1: Withstand: Assume a more defensive shape, add 1d6 bonus to your Rolls to Dye.

Lvl 2: Feed the Fire: Attack the cage directly with a maddening weapon. Induce burn directly through your attacks. Your attacks feed directly from the flame produced. Heal 1d6 HP on a successful attack.

Lvl 3: Cruelty of The Blade: Your weapon becomes grotesque and sharp. Your companion takes on a form meant to feed its fascination more brutally. When you would deal damage to the target, double the damage dealt by your Swing.

Lvl 4: Guttural Canon: Your reflection becomes an awful, caustic canon. You can reconfigure your attack to attack all creatures in a straight line up to 10 squares, or in a 3 square by 3 square cube. Your attack gets a bonus for every creature targeted in this way (up to +6).

Lvl 5: A Form of Chaos: Your reflection takes on a form, mirroring your own in its image. Allowing you to request it to act or allowing it to act however it wishes too. Giving your weapon a turn of its own in this round.

Lvl 6: Devourer of All: Your reflection unhinges into a great mouth, consuming the incoming attack. Heal HP equal to the damage you would have dealt and negate the attack. Immediately shifts back to normal form.

One Voice: Whenever another person attempts to influence you or control your actions with their ESP, you may clash with them immediately even if your colors are not matched. If you win, reject their influence and consume their ESP for 1 chaos. If you travel through ESP you may at any point Roll to Do to consume it if it is the level of your ESP or below. Gain 1 chaos and dispel the ESP on a success.

Level Up: 100xp or Commune with your Reflection and Break Out

Level 2

Path of Chaos: After changing forms, you may perform a Roll to Do immediately using the new form. You cannot select Withstand for this ability.

I

Level 1

ESP: You have an additional, extra sense that piggy-backs off of your sense of taste. You can almost taste different emotions, memories or philosophical concepts as if they were distinct flavors. Everything to you is, at some level, edible– physically or otherwise. You can sustain yourself and gain nourishment from a conversation, from thoughts or from music as if you were eating or drinking. Similarly, to be left without stimulation will feel as if you were starving. You may roll twice taking the higher of the two results to sense someone’s intentions or true thoughts via this extra sense.

Savor: Important and life changing lessons have a different texture to them. Whenever you are entertaining a major new thought, write it in the space below.

You may only Savor one major thought at a time and may only perform this once per session.

You can, at any point, choose to Consume or Reject this thought. If you choose either option, heal a wound immediately or succeed at a roll if you can narrate how your acceptance or rejection enables you to succeed at this exact moment. If you choose to Consume this thought, write it down on the following list:

Consumed

Whenever you act in direct contradiction to your consumed thoughts, the GM can call you on it. If they do, you roll with disadvantage on the effort.

Your ESP will evolve when you have 10 major consumed thoughts.

Redefinition: You may wound yourself at any point for any reason as you reject a part of yourself. Whenever you are wounded, you may choose a mutation and undergo an immediate change. For example you can mutate wings if you wish to fly, claws if you wish to cut more deeply, horns if you wish to impale the enemy etc. These mutations last until your wounds are healed.

Level Up: 100xp or Consume 10 Major Thoughts

Level 2

Ideological Evolution: You can no longer internalize additional Major Thoughts. When you do you MUST erase an earlier thought. However, whenever you mutate via Redefinition, you gain a 1d6 to all efforts directly involving whatever you mutate. Once per session you may attempt to embody an ideal. This could be one of your Major Thoughts or it could be something like “I want to protect this world.” or “I want to be someone people can rely on.” If you do, mutate yourself as if you used Redefinition without sustaining a wound first and write the chosen ideal in the space below. Every subsequent time you embody this ideal, you gain a +1 bonus for each time you’ve embodied this chosen ideal.

Ideals:

Level Up: 300xp or embody the same ideal 3 times

Priestess of Oblivion

Bond - Curse

Level 1

Priestess of Oblivion: You may reroll once per session, allowing the Priestess instead to take control of the situation. She gains a bonus to the roll equal to double the number of points you have invested in her attributes. If she succeeds, she will act as she believes is most appropriate to the best of her abilities. You then lose the day. Roll before she emerges. If the roll fails, a different Priestess takes control of the situation instead. You do not lose the day in that case.

Level Up: 50xp or Raise Your Bond Level With The Priestess to 4 or Come Into Contact with the other Priestesses

Level 2

Priestess of Eclipse: Invoking the Priestess now lasts multiple actions. Invoking her functions as before, but she may continue to act, locking out one of your attributes with each action performed. When all of your attributes are locked out, the priestess is unsummoned. She now gains triple the bonuses invested in her attributes.

Level Up: 100xp or reach bond level 8 with the priestess

Level 2b
