50 More Reflections! 31-40
Added 2022-12-17 02:12:29 +0000 UTCDoes anyone want some more esoteric, weird or straight up evil reflections? I have no idea why they all pooled together like this.
004 - Serpent of All: Worm of Origin - Snake - Green: When it became clear that the human form was unviable, the material of humanity, scattered as it was across the globe, ran in rivers deep into the world. Where it found water it stained it black. Those that patrolled the surface were set to purify the world in cleansing flame, but beneath the world in a reservoir even their CODA could not see a creature began to feed on the intermixed oils of the world.
The Serpent of All is a Reflection that entwines itself with one’s arm, leg or head. This pitch dark serpent ripples with multicolored light and motes of flame. The Serpent of All is not a physical being, it is a corruption of the composition of reality that is mounted to the self. The simplest manifestation of this is its body being theoretically infinitely large: by aiming the serpent’s head at an object it WILL close that gap by mixing itself with all reality between it and the target. By feeding the humanity of others to the serpent it grows larger and more vicious, splitting its form and gaining potency as a beast that devours castaway refuse.

006 or T6 - 5 - Another Advent: All The World’s Mistakes Are Forgiven - Flame - Black: This attempt was a failure. A rare, silent agreement between those that wished for the world to flourish and those that wished to see the world burn. A great joke. Only a miracle could reverse the tides now and give them the chance they needed to perfect their system.
The oceans split, and the beast that should have remained sleeping awoke. With a flick of her hand, she began to separate the world once more into its most fundamental forms allowing things to mix anew. Mistakes are a right of mortals, after all.
This Reflection grants one access to the flame that saved the world. It is not a hero's flame, but a flame meant to redeem broken, mistaken places and sad, shattered beings. This reflection can be used to attack with corruptive, distorted heavyflame, grotesque clouds of power that cause the target’s form to run like candlewax. Its true purpose is in rebuilding or reinvigorating, however. By targeting an ally, one can increase the effectiveness of their reflection temporarily, and by targeting the landscape one can restore the composition of the world.

D1 - 2 - Purgatory’s Nail: Large Rock That I’ve Pinned Something Under - Spear and Gigantic Rock - White and Black: In ages past, the archdemon of beasts found himself contending with a creature that managed to outperform even him and his legendary axe. Unable to get the better of the creature, he instead decided to rely on his hunter’s wit. He attracted the beast into the depths of a canyon and crushed it beneath a giant rock. Taking a golden lance he had received as a gift from his younger sister, he drove it into the rock without thinking a thing about it.
But, the muse of the court of instrumentality had laid a powerful enchantment on that lance, that wherever it might strike a legend would sprout as certainly as the buds during spring.
Thinking himself the victor, the archdemon of beasts left, only to discover years later that the being was still very much alive. Its guttural growls seeped into the earth and became one with the soil. Anyone who ate the meat of the beasts who lived on the mountain surrounding the beast would suffer vivid nightmares for the rest of their lives. They would be forced to fight the creature, night after night, in order to return to the waking world.
The archdemon of beasts was so delighted by this creature he did not slay it, and instead spread word far and wide that the one capable of lifting the holy lance from the stone would be made into the greatest hero the world has ever known, knowing full well the creature would simply devour them on the spot.
The lance was never removed. This reflection creates a gigantic rock where it is summoned with the beast beneath it. It is still very much alive. The lance, however, now sits in its wielder’s hand. So long as the beast remains trapped beneath the rock, the wielder will be imbued with its power but they will be forced to face the beast in dream every night that they consume meat. But the monstrosity promises even greater power if the wielder is willing to place the lance within the stone and symbolically remove it once their power has grown great enough to lift the stone.

305 - Reaper’s Coin - Coin - Blue: An accidental curiosity. For those of the plaza, bored as they were of the world in its current shape, death was an attraction and a commodity. Life in its stagnant state held little meaning to their lounging forms. When this coin found its way from the mint as some sort of printing error personally mandated by the court of death, a legend began to form. Wherever this coin travelled, death and calamity was sure to follow. Drawn to this symbol of chaos and freedom, the coin carved its way from plaza to plaza, maze to maze, always in the hands of some great symbol of freedom or change. A weapon originally meant to cast down the more troublesome administrators of the world, the court of death found themselves with headache after headache caused by the gilded symbol they created. Hideously and frustratingly, this coin has somehow managed to survive the end of the world, its long flight from the hand and back again apparently not yet over.
By flicking the coin into the air, the wielder of this reflection takes advantage of uncertain probability, gaining power and effectiveness so long as it remains spinning. Regardless of how much luck one might wring from the coin, few can truly evade the reaper for long.

350 - Found Familiars - Familiar - Any: An alchemical draught that allows one to commune and bind oneself to the unseen creatures of the great ship. Those that were granted this rare right were treated as brilliant trackers, navigators and tacticians capable of navigating the torrential waters in the space between. The ship was treated as the home of all life, and much of it existed just outside the perception of those that called it home. Coaxing beasts from the other side to assist was just a matter of course for the great alchemists.
This reflection creates a potion that, once consumed, ties one's soul to a specific type of familiar determined by the wielder. They choose the nature of the creature, but once this choice is made it cannot be made again without another dose of the potion. They become capable of perceiving and manifesting fantastic creatures of the chosen type, and begin to take on aspects and the abilities of those very same creatures. By focusing on any of their familiars, they can see through their eyes and can even exchange places with the beasts.

351 - Galvanogenesis - Lightning - Any: A glove, ribbon or mark applied to the forearm, drawn from the pointer finger backwards. This “weapon” emulates the lightning of creation. Whenever thunder struck the great vortex, land was soon to follow, and with it another chance for mankind’s survival. By pointing and willing it, the target is blasted with the overwhelming might of lightning which shortly dissipates and animates the area around. Water, when targeted with this divine lightning will create new and novel constructions, an emulation of its civilization-saving properties. If water contains the building blocks of life, this reflection carries the ability to make something of them.

352 - Lifedancers: May The Wind Blow Where it May - Ribbons - Any and Any: Brilliant ribbons attached to the first to depart, sigils of hope meant to carry with them the dreams of those left behind. The Lifedancers carried the winds of explorers and romantics who imagined a life outside of the great ship. To see one tracing its path into the horizon was a symbol of hope but also bittersweet parting.
The user once equipped with the Lifedancers can choose to place their life essence within it, dying the cloth a color corresponding to the essence drained. For those of the ship, each color contained a different dream of the outside world. Dreams of flying. Dreams of valor. Dreams of magic and legend. By spending the life contained within, the ribbon allows one to perform great feats matching to a corresponding dream.

401 - Alien Architecture: Macrocosm Emulation - Satellite - Blue: A machine of unknown origin and function was discovered in low orbit, its bizarre shape wounding the minds of astronomers and drakes alike that approached the device. By binding one’s mind to a drake, and then hopping from them to the machine itself, the tactician used the mind-bending architecture to gain a bird’s eye view of the battlefield at the cost of great mental strain to herself.
This reflection creates a theoretical satellite, binds one's vision to it, and then allows them to hop from that cyst of alien architecture to a target visible to the satellite. Only those who have sworn a pact with the wielder are visible via the satellite; however, the rest of the world appears to be a mass of darkness and fog. When hopping to an ally’s perspective, the wielder is able to invisibly aid them in combat, warping space using their new seat-on-high.

T2 - 2 - Tunneller Mount - This Is Not A Reflection - None: A gift from one of the tormented. She decided to lend us this object that is absolutely not a reflection, though it is stored as such. It was left lovingly, with a note, “make with it what you will.”
I will simply explain its usage.
The Tunneller Mount is meant to be attached in the same method as a Reflection. Then, one is supposed to equip a second reflection on top of it. The reflection promises no ill side effects (at this stage.) At this point.
Sigh.
The wielder is supposed to attach a third reflection, at which point the mount will activate, fusing the two mounted reflections into one, erasing itself in the process. The newly created reflection then becomes impossible to remove under any circumstances.
The downside to this process is that many of the processes that the Mount uses are random, though affinity with the source reflections grants the ability to control them somewhat. When the two reflections are combined, an outcome is chosen from the following for the ability section:
-The two abilities are combined into a single ability
-The ability of reflection A is preserved
-The ability of reflection B is preserved
-A new ability is drafted
-The ability is lost
-Both abilities are gained
On top of that, each attribute of the reflection is subjected to:
-Reflection A’s attribute is subtracted from Reflection B’s attribute
-Reflection B’s attribute is subtracted from Reflection A’s attribute
-Reflection A and B’s attributes are added together, and if they exceed EX sustain a permanent wound and set it to EX+
-Use Reflection A’s attribute
-Use Reflection B’s attribute
-Flip a coin, set the attribute to EX or F based on the result of the coin flip
However, for each level one has with a reflection they are able to re-attempt a roll once. For example, if you are level 1 with Reflection A, you can re-attempt the level 1 ability roll and Power for the combined reflection once. If you are level 3 with both Reflection A and B you can re-attempt the level 1, 2, 3 and Power, Defense and Tech rolls each twice.
“Enjoy my cute little sparks. I’m curious to see what you’ll make~”
