It's going to be daily updates for a while, starting soon. Batch art is probably the fastest way to do pages, but I don't really like doing it unless I have to (right now, I do). Anyways, here's some comparisons between the pencils (top row) and the inks/ main figure flats (middle).
The last row illustrates a point I've made several times before in tutorials: don't let your borders run across pages. The green lines show the flow of the borders, and as you can see none of them touch. The closest I get is at the bottom between page 517/ 518 where it looks like the green lines neeeearly touch, but not quite. One of my least favorite comic book reading experiences is when I'm reading a page and I can't tell if I'm supposed to read down or across, like a spread, especially in scenes with similar colors or characters. It's a really easy thing to do if you're not paying attention, so even if I'm not working in batches I will open the previous page just to make sure nothing in the new layout flows incorrectly.
In other news... wonder what they're talking about :O We'll find out soon~
