The Tide minicomic

This was the first polished Meek comic I ever drew, even before Chapter 1. I was still pretty novice at making "real" comics... prior to that, I had only made the Snowball comics to sell for a dollar each at APE 2007, haha. APE 2008, also in October, was coming up, and I wanted to try my hand at something more stylistically similar to what I was aiming for with the launch of the real comic in Dec 2008. I sold these for a few bucks a piece but, nobody knew what it was for at the time since the comic wasn't live yet XD As with all my comics they were printed late weekend nights at the photocopier at my dad's work, so nobody would catch me doing it. Does anyone here have a physical copy? I only made a hundred or so, so they're pretty rare.

Anyways, I still have a lot of good feelings towards these. I still remember making them and thinking "jesus christ nobody is going to want to read this weird shit" but I might have been wrong.

These comics will probably be included in the Kickstarter just for completion's sake, but they are a bit older at this point so I think it's okay to share them here with you guys too. Anyhow, the bulk of the Kickstarter is made of entirely new material, including a new prologue comic that explains about more about Dagre and Mocheril prior to the events in Chapter 1... I'm roughing that out now and I'm kind of excited to draw battles~~

OK, hope you like, and thank you as always for reading my stuff.

Only seeing this now, but I got a copy from back then! Ordered it along with the Snowball comics, and I remeber being really excited that you'd send it to Germany hahaha

Glad you liked it! I still like my inking from back then, it was a lot less restrained because I was working at tiny sizes XD And it's fun to talk about some of the stuff not happening in the main storyline too.

And, sorry for all the typos in this! Reader Alex R. was kind enough to make me a complete list of them, I'm so embarrassed XD These pages are from a very old file, which I had flattened, and it wasn't a priority to fix all of them this weekend since I'm so busy but I appreciate that you guys are willing to let me know about them. If I do get them all fixed up I will update this file~

I also have this comic in floppy style first chapter of the meek version. I remember most vividly the conversation of the carissi girls deciding whether or not to drop the brick. Good times.

Wow XD I think it might have been, a realllly long time ago when I did a first run of the floppy version, that's the one with a kind of border around the cover. Super rare XD Thanks for being such a long-time reader!

I have a copy! I think it was included with a copy of chapter 1? I loved it, I read it a bunch of times because it was like... the most we'd seen of the meek world outside the ch1 jungle. Like cool secret officially sanctioned spoilers hehehe Excited for the kickstarter!

Fermenting, in this case! Though fomenting is a good word (but usually applies to external situations I think, vs self)

Der-shing Helmer

Was he fermenting his hatred? Or fomenting hatred?
