Not every woman is a pred, but every woman is capable of being a pred - an easy to overlook detail.
I don't tend to write characters with a death wish, or entirely willing prey, but that doesn't mean they can't exist. Even in a harsh and oppressive environment where a mistake can land you on the bad end of taco Tuesday, people will still be people.
Some people will miss social cues, others die of stupidity (prob me), and some people have their head so far up their own ass they can't tell they're looking at their own future. Narcissists would still exist, and just like in reality they would be a lot happier if they didn't
Or, you know, if they went to therapy
