What? That time you went to jail, they didn't give you a plaque with your name on it?
I really like how the second and third panels came out. Shows that little rendering is needed when you have such dense shadow information in the line art.
I redrew Connelly's expression a few times. It needed to not match what he was saying.
He's working you Harlan! Don't listen! Leave poor Jess alone!

Fun fact - This guy, Connelly is a real Hydra agent from the comics. He has such a small role that I was surprised to find out he even had a name while researching for this project.
He was the the one who showed up in Jessica's apartment out of nowhere before she became an Avenger and was like "Me and my... 'associates' would... 'like it' if you would be Spider-Woman again."
I didn't realise until a Patron, Ronin, pointed it out, but he's doing the EXACT same thing to Mr. Krueger here. It wasn't even intentional, but I think that means I'm doing it right. This is just what Connelly does.

Alright, I've kept you waiting long enough. It's still a few more pages before Spider-Woman gets got, but before then, I have a more DiD-centric image in my head that I want to try out. I'll post that in the next few days. Free of charge.

"Alright, I've kept you waiting long enough." Happy to wait a bit longer, let the anticipation build. Plus I am enjoying your style you do nice work with light and shadow in these cell scenes

I am super curious as to what Connely will propose. I know what it will likely lead to, but what he'll say to convince Kruger to do it, and what his motivation will be interests me greatly

Well... long term, Marvel has definitely had trouble keeping Jessica's personality consistent. In the most recent run she just comes off as a psychotic thug.

I wholeheartedly agree. Setup is important.

Anyway, regarding the comic itself and the things you say about it, it's interesting that - intentional or not - Connely is playing the same kind of character he did in the comics. If I could recommend something (which doesn't matter in the longrun, I'm not the idea guy), I think it'd be pretty cool if in your future comics, Connely's actually POSING as a Hydra agent and really working for your OC - that inner demonness character (I don't recall her name). Just a thought that in the DiD comics at least he'd be approaching other villains to put our favorite heroine(s) in a bind.

I have to say, Telikor, the composition of your work is like looking at an actual Marvel comic! Did you work there in a former life?

If it takes a few more pages to build it up, that's all good. The more like a real comic this is, the better! I'm in it for the long haul.

After reading the comments on the previous page yesterday I went to my comics and read again all the Connely appearances (thanks wiki for listing them). I didn't remember much but I had read them at the time. I didn't even remember this blonde guy had powers, something that was never explained in the end. I also didn't remember the writer and artist "victimized" Jessica that much. I mean in the first few stories she looked much more helpless and compliant than her character is usually portrayed

I know right? It really was just a cameo. But like... for what? Hangman is and was a nobody.

I also really liked Hangman's expression in the second and third panel! Really conveys a lot of emotion with so little facial expression and such heavy shadows. Also, I just finished reading the original Spider-Woman comic until issue #6 and did some research, and Hangman really shows up, kidnaps Spider-Woman, has his whole monologue, leaves her in that house, and then never shows up again?! Comics storytelling was/is wild sometimes.

My god, the wind up... the wind up! And nice! Letting us know that this IS the original Hangman with that first panel. :) I totally thought it was intentional, but if it wasn't, you totally got his character right. And you know what else you are doing right? The vibe. The wind up. Keep it up, Tellk! :)
