So excited to finally be doing this. Spider-Woman tied to that chair on the cover of Spider-Woman #6 (1978) and the tangentially related sequence in #4 - 5 is the stuff of legends in the superhero peril art community. But it was over so quickly.
But now I hold the pen, and I say Jessica and the Hangman have unfinished business!
The script for this first issue is sitting at 29 pages, not counting the cover and info page. I had a non-starter attempts at this cover. I was becoming increasingly nervous that I couldn't arrive at an idea I liked. But I definitely found it in the end.
It was a simple scenario to spiritually depict in the end. Hangman's back and Spider-Woman is definitely surprised, and not too jazzed about it.
