WIP - ColorWerks Hair Tests
Added 2022-05-19 14:32:11 +0000 UTCIn addition to tall the preconfigured masks and options that this shader comes with, it also has a "Swap Colors" option and a "Mess Offset" option. I wanted to figure out how those worked, and how you would obtain colored tips using this tool.
I started with Black and White to figure out how some of it worked, but I wanted blonde hair with pink tips. I found that manually putting the colors in the opposite positions generally worked better than the "swap colors" option. I'm still not really sure how the "mesh offset" works, because the only values that really seem to work are between .3 and about .7. The full range is 0 to 1, so it really only seems to make a difference with the middle of the range.
I did eventually end up with an effect close to what I wanted, but it's still not quite right. There is more pink in the more of the hair than I really wanted. I am probably doing something wrong. I haven't actually read the manual, if there even is one. I've just been playing around. :)
