Chapter 1,169.

"Welcome back," Qul'Uster said, looking up from the terminal as Nutzu entered his office. "You've seen better days."

"Wouldn't mind a vacation," Nutzu grunted while slumping into a chair. "Here's the reports you wanted. It should be all there."

"What an unexpected harvest," Qul'Uster said with satisfaction.

"Why would you even want those old pieces of junk?" Nutzu muttered, still annoyed about losing so many of her men to that devious bastard's plot.

"Junk?" Qul'Uster said with a shake of his head.

"Yeah, junk," Nutzu said. "It should be a Class-4 flotilla using outmoded technology. And that's provided the things remain functional. Damn, I almost got killed over garbage."

"These things aren't garbage. True, they lack the advancements we've developed over the Era, but bear in mind the environment in which they were constructed," Qul'Uster said. "It was during a time when the Selvari were still united, fighting a losing war. With the Limitless Empire breathing down their necks, would there be the squabbles our spies have reported among their descendants?"

"You think they might hold core technologies of multiple families?" Nutzu said skeptically. "If true, we could use that as a reference for our research. But would they have put anything interesting in such a minor fleet?"

"It's worth a try. Class is not always the best indicator of value. The flotilla was targeting a project connected to the False Heavens. There is no information about it in our records, but my instincts tell me the ships won't be of simple stock," Qul'Uster said. "Recovering even an incomplete heritage will more than make up for the setbacks on our end."

"Setbacks? What happened?" Nutzu said with exasperation.

"Our Blank Slates were discovered sooner than expected, and the natives responded with great determination. We only ended up accomplishing 43% of our subset goals."

"Well, I'm pretty sure I killed that princeling if that's any consolation," Nutzu grinned. "I tried to install a Root Device before he died, but he somehow shifted out of our spacetime."

"Oh?" Qul'Uster said with surprise before nodding thoughtfully. "These new Imperials also rely on Faith Energy. He was likely summoned for the rites of succession. Is this why you refused a debrief through long-distance communicators? Or is it about the key?"

"Both. Neither," Nutzu said, scratching her head with frustration.

"It was only a limited cooperation bound to end sooner rather than later. I'll deal with it. You shouldn't face any punishment," Qul'Uster said. "Did you find it?"

"Only the coordinates. I ran out of time before I could get the key," Nutzu said.

"That's a shame," Qul'Uster sighed. "It took a lot of effort unearthing these threads, but we might be able to discover another Lighthouse. The False Heavens seem to be aiding us, dredging items from the dimensional depths."

"Wait, I wasn't finished," Nutzu said.

"There's no way to go back and retrieve it now," Qul'Uster said with a shake of his head, and Nutzu could already tell he was moving on to the next subject. "We will have to make some simulation—"

"Do you want me to simulate a punch so you can settle down?"

Qul'Uster raised his hands in defeat before indicating for her to continue.

"The reason I disconnected wasn't because of that shifty bastard. I'd like to see those old goats try to censure me for taking out an Imperial," Nutzu laughed before her face grew somber. "I found it. The missing remnant."

"What? Already?!" Qul'Uster said, his eyes wide as he shot to his feet. "Where is it?"

"Not it. He."

"He? What?"

"The remnant is a human male."

"You're saying they actually did it? The Kayar-Elu managed to bring back the Supreme Ancestor?"

"No," Nutzu said. "More like raise a true descendant."

"Impossible," Qul'Uster rejected. "You're aware of the founder's parting words. There can only be one per Era. Hundreds of experiments have proven him right."

"Well, he's here, and I watched him awaken the Void Emperor's bloodline to Class-3. Consumed enough resources to raise a Class-4 Dominator," Nutzu said. "Besides, if the elders didn't think there was any hope of success, would they have led the spies to the Essence Blood?"

"It's impossible to know what went through their minds when they made such a dangerous gamble. They said passing the torch to the other inheritor clans was the only chance we had at success, but I see it as an attack on their resources."

"Have the Kayar-Elu and the other haughty bastards go broke trying to extract the bloodline?" Nutzu laughed. "Not a bad plan. Whether they succeeded or not, we would have achieved our goals."

"To think there's a living descendant walking the lands. History repeats itself. We're approaching the zenith," Qul'Uster said, his eyes like radiant torches. "Tell me everything you saw."

"We only saw each other for a second or two," Nutzu said, sharing her experience and the readings from her drones' scans.

"The Void is brought to the surface? I don't understand," Qul'Uster muttered. "How would the Kayar-Elu invert the bloodline? And why? Was that the only way to pass the restriction?"

"It might not be them," Nutzu said. "Remember how it all went down? The Cursed Heavens barged into the Heartlands to wipe out their clan? Four thousand years later, this guy suddenly pops up, just in time to see the pillar's ascent. He could be a plant."

"It's suspect," Qul'Uster agreed. "The Cursed Heavens supposedly annihilated everything related to the project, yet here he is. Do you know his identity?"

"No, but I think he's a local. There's no way he's not famous already, seeing how he almost managed to keep pace with that princeling while still in Early Class-3."

"Local? There's no need to investigate, then," Qul'Uster smiled and opened a file on his terminal. "Is this him?"

"Zachary Atwood…" Nutzu muttered. "That's the remnant, alright. He's famous?"

"He's… Very high profile," Qul'Uster said with a shake of his head. "Just minutes ago, he jumped to the top of the sector rankings."

"Makes sense, considering what he did with the fortress. Those parasite cultivators must be losing their minds right now," Nutzu snorted. "Oh, by the way. He probably has the key."

"Untouched by fate's river, creating his own path," Qul'Uster sighed.

"So what should we do?" Nutzu asked. "I gave him a communicator, but it's already destroyed. He also killed a few of my men in there."

"For now, don't do anything," Qul'Uster said. "I need to speak with my mother."

"Are you going to tell Serpasir?"

"What do you think?" Qul'Uster scoffed, and his usually calm demeanor frosted over. "Those people have been rapidly gaining momentum since the Kayar-Elu's destruction. They think they can use the Technocracy Council's sudden vacancy to move back home. They've gone mad with desire; The interim leader said there have been hints of them researching ways to shed the Oath."

"Blind idiots," Nutzu swore, her heart churning with anger. "It's because they never visit the Edge any longer. Someone should drag them out there and have them face the beyond. Our end. That'll help them remember why we chose exile."

"Ultimately, too much time has passed," Qul'Uster sighed. "It wasn't supposed to be like this. We may be deluding ourselves."

"Whatever. I'd rather take it to the end and find nothing waiting for us than give up halfway," Nutzu said. "If he's a descendant, we must bring him to the fold. He's our best chance. He might be even more suited than the original."

"What a mess this has become," Qul'Uster groaned before his eyes snapped open with realization. "Wait, if he's really from back then—"

"Maybe you should call him Eldest Cousin?" Nutzu laughed before her eyes grew somber. "What if Maseri finds out?"

Qul'Uster groaned and pinched his brows. "Who knows what that madman will do if he discovers his son might be alive? I hear he almost blew up Sanctuary after being dumped by the Kayar-Elu Princess. Let's pray they're still keeping that unkillable lunatic isolated."

----------------

A simple slash descended toward the rampaging Beast King's neck. It didn't look strong enough to cut through wood, let alone the reinforced scales of the crocodilian monstrosity. Yet, the greatest truths hid within the mundane, as they represented the true nature of the universe. The sword finished its arc, and the bus-sized head fell off. Even in its death, the Beast King hadn't noticed anything amiss.

Thea sighed as she looked across the battlefield. Killing one beast was barely a blip on the radar before the endless tide that came out of nowhere. Yet, she couldn't sit back and ignore the suffering around her like most of the haughty monks. They spoke of natural course and not stepping into the sea of suffering. They simply didn't want to sully their providence with the Karma of the local factions they hopped between.

Useless locusts.

Well, not all of them. A golden palm crashed into the ground, turning a thousand beasts into ashes. The palm was followed by a ringed staff the size of a skyscraper. It swept through the chaotic lines, forcing order on the wilds. Amanthi was like a god of war as he advanced, delivering salvation through rebirth.

Her mentor singlehandedly stabilized a large swathe of the battlefield before the locals were overrun. There was still a chance to turn things around. The beasts were larger, faster, and stronger, but man never claimed dominion over the cosmos through raw force. Battlements were being erected, weapons assembled. They just needed to hold out a little longer.

A single word made those thoughts shrivel up and die.

'RUN!'

Hearing the horror in her fearless companion's voice made Thea activate her ultimate escape skill without hesitation. Two rounds of adjustments had left it slightly weaker, but it no longer cost her levels to activate. She didn't have much choice—between the dangers on the Goldblade continent and the war, she would have been pushed back to level one just to stay alive.

It was still a unique top-tier Skill, which even borrowed from the Sangha's understanding of the river of fate. However, Thea's swore upon finding herself stuck in place. A hand the size of a planet had replaced all surroundings, destroying any fate she had with the outside world.

"You're the key, aren't you?" a guttural laugh shook Thea to the core. "I can feel your fate entangled with the fulcrum."

Thea ignored the voice as she tried to break free from the mysterious method. Everything she did proved futile, and the hand kept shrinking. Yet she fought on, adamant to struggle until the last breath.

"Benefactor, it is not too late to turn back," an emotionless voice invaded the separated world, rewriting the past and opening a path to the future.

Thousands of pure-white lotus flowers bloomed in the darkness. The gentle rustle of their petals formed a monastic cadence that could enlighten or lead you astray, depending on your heart's convictions. Suddenly, he was there, standing among the flowers with a string of beads in his hand.

Sacred Insight, the leader of the Sangha and the first-place holder of the ladder after he finally overcame the mysterious Kelvinios two weeks ago.

"I knew it," the attacker scoffed, and Thea's eyes widened when she saw the source step out of the darkness. "Turn over a rock, and one will find you bastards hiding in its shadows."

It was that stubby monster that had become a living nightmare on the frontlines. Wherever she appeared, carnage followed. The number of soldiers who had died at her hands was already in the millions, most of them ending up in her stomach. Dozens of Late Hegemons had been ripped apart, and even a few Peak Hegemons had failed to escape her grasp.

The most shocking fact was a little-known Everlasting Peace shared. A wandering Monarch had tried to assassinate the so-called Primordial, likely because they desired the secret of why she was so monstrously strong for a Middle Hegemon. The clash had resulted in the Monarch's complete and utter death, to the point the cultivators of the Zecia sector had forgotten of their existence. Only the Sangha could see the erasure from history and discover what had happened.

The method sounded like that uncanny power hiding within Zac, where Thea had felt her memories being erased after he killed the Dominator. Oblivion. However, this was on another scale entirely.

"One of the worst things about waking up to this false sky was finding out that you disgusting parasites were still around to soil the river of fate," the ugly creature spat before her mouth curved up in a wicked grin. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It was that exalted existence who dashed your schemes in that ancient past, wasn't it? Is it revenge? Or do you think you can reclaim what you lost by seizing the court?"

"Amitabha," the monk calmly said. "Buddha's love is Eternal and can never be lost."

Thea didn't make a sound. She was more than happy to let these two first-place holders duke it out. Well, not that happy. While the Sangha's leader was unfathomable, he was ultimately just an Early Hegemon like her. Could he even hold back this creature long enough for her to escape?

It might seem callous, but Thea knew Sacred Insight hadn't saved her out of goodwill. He was cold and calculative, not even bothering to maintain the smiling guise of his brothers. He was also the reason her presence was kept a secret, creating circumstances that prevented her from getting her name on the ladder while blocking her attempts to send a message back to Earth.

Perhaps she'd get her chance if the Primordial could knock him out for a few weeks.

"Slippery tongues as always," the Primordial laughed. "Your talk makes me want to return to the seas and take a dip. I still remember the sweet taste of sanctimony."

"The Sangha will never turn away an esteemed guest. Every meeting is an opportunity for enlightenment."

"Whatever," the beast grunted. "Are you bastards the ones who meddled with the preordained trajectories?"

"Fate cannot be meddled with. It can only be," Sacred Insight said with a calm gaze. "And benefactor should sense the bringer of change is separate with the Sangha."

"Should I?" The beast said, her bestial eyes turning to Thea. "Then why are the Heavens pointing me to this one? Why do I feel your repulsive mark hiding in the river of fate?"

"All is one, and one is all," Sacred Insight said. "The trajectories may have changed, but the destination remains the same."

"That's right. All paths lead to my belly," the beast said as an unnaturally wide grin spread across her face.

Warning signals were going off in Thea's mind, and she inched away despite knowing it was futile. There was no escaping the suffocating pressure before them.

Two men suddenly stepped out of Sacred Insight's shadows. The first looked almost identical to the original, but his aura was many times greater. The third was barely a hazy outline, yet that glimpse was almost enough for Thea to lose her path. What terrifying attainment in the Dharma.

What was going on? It almost felt like Sacred Insight had invited incarnations of himself from the future. Or was it his current form that was false? The middle avatar kept growing more tangible, while the original felt more and more like a dream.

One thing was certain. He was now a better match to the stubby monster looking ready to swallow them whole. The standoff went on an uncomfortably long time until the Primordial snorted.

"You will die by my hands like the others," she said as the enormous hand faded. "But not before you've helped me open the path."

"Amitabha. What will be, will be."

"Thank you for—wait!" Thea shouted with exasperation upon realizing Sacred Insight was already floating away on a cloud. She had to strain herself just to keep up. "What were you talking about? What's happened?"

The monk slowed down and turned to Thea. She didn't flinch before the intense scrutiny, glaring right back even if she knew it was empty posturing. She might have become a Soultaker of Ultom, but she held no illusions that'd allow her to contend against this man. It had only made the huge chasm slightly smaller.

And while his face was impassive, Thea had spent enough time among these monks to glean that he was extremely annoyed.

"Fate has worked to keep the Flamebearers separate, but your friend went against the natural order. Fate's tide is rising, and the trajectories are in flux. Our time is running short."

"Running short? What does that mean?" Thea said, but the question was thrown into the back of her mind ."Wait, my friend? You mean Zac fought a flamebearer?"

Thea urgently opened the screen.

[Stars of Zecia: Early D-grade]

1st – Zachary Atwood, Atwood Empire

2nd – Emily Larkin, Atwood Empire

3rd – Kelvinios

4th – Ynar Solefair

5th – Kerokas, Kavriel Province

6th – Helian Ailo, Allbright Empire

7th – Nori Vera, Starforge

8th – Fateblight, Hanor Clan

9th – Arcaz Umbri'Zi, Atwood Empire

10th – Keshka'Vur, Entroso Clan

[…]

100th – Uroso Kavriel, Undead Empire

Thea blankly looked at the update, even more shocked to see the second-place holder than the first.

"You—" Thea said, realizing the monk was already gone.

Since he wasn't dead, then looked like he was forced to step into Middle Hegemony to make the Primordial step down. Was that why he looked so annoyed? Thea's lips curved into a smile at the thought, but the schadenfreude was soon replaced by confusion and loss.

It seemed extremely unlikely for the Zac she knew to surpass the monsters at the top of the ladder, but that was decades ago. Achieving the impossible was right up his wheelhouse, so it almost felt expected to suddenly see him shoot to the top like a rocket.

But what about Emily? Thea felt a pang of regret as she saw the familiar name. The only way Emily could have reached such a height was through having her fate swept up in Zac's, something she'd welcomed in contrast to Thea. Would that have been her if she'd fought a bit harder to get back home?

No, she had her path to walk while he had his. She would be the one to choose the direction, even if that meant her journey ended earlier. And while a slew of new names on the ladder had made it harder to thwart the Sangha's plot, she suddenly had a feeling she'd reunite with Zac and the others sooner than she'd expected.

Comments

The Thea story appears like once every 50 chapters so it’s kind of hard to remember all the details but there isn’t anything missing

Baked Zucchini

Exactly what I’m doing right now 😂 this is epic.

Andy Clanny

This chapter can use some re-writes OR he forgot to paste a few paragraphs. I have no idea what's going on with the monk and the beast. The story jumps around as though there are missing paragraphs.

eriah cat

Always? You mean, by the way she’s decided to choose her own path since Zac’s mom dumped her on that planet?

Jeff McCulley

Eh, still don't like Thea. She is always reactive.

jj

Scritch scratch I'm currently in the process of this plan it works well even better if ya have two or more series to swap between while it stacks

ItWasIDIO!!

Unkillable u say hmm... I knew he didn't get it from his mother

ItWasIDIO!!

Except you’ll do that and then find yourself reading all 60 chapters in two days. Like i am about to do. Then you have to either stay up to date or have the power to stop reading for another few months.

Dan

His sister Kenzie is with his mom because if the system or heavens find Jeeves it will kill Kenzie. Thea was only taken to light a fire back under Zac to get him cultivating again and after the fake death she just discarded her on a war planet that had no ruling faction for her to fend for herself.

Pickled Rick

I'm pretty sure Zacs mom dropped her off on some world, where she ran into the monks.. this happened shortly after she was taken, I believe

RadiantSpren

Okay I'm confused. I thought Thea was with Zac's mom?

Douglas Davis

Nutzu = Future Zac Girlfriend.

Jeff McCulley

So Zac's real father is still around and might learn of his existence soon? That could be an interesting development, especially since he's described as a crazy, unkillable lunatic lol. If he actually has some paternal instincts that could make things interesting. So that technocrat person is the one that did the killing blow on the Imperial champion. Kind of funny they are mentioning Zac destroying their communicator and killing their people like it's a surprise. They helped the Imperials assassinate a bunch of top people on his side in the war, and almost successfully assassinate him. They infiltrated the alliance's strategic forces and then they entered the fortress and were going around attacking him and Emily. Of course he sees them as enemies at the moment lol. He'd be an idiot to not at the least distrust them.

Dave Richards

That or he is same as Karz, existence that can only be one per era

SandreX

Getting kidnapped and experimented on is not an achievement. Getting rescued by an A grade faction to be used as a political pawn because her ex is awesome is not an achievement. Emily getting trapped in a space pod for a year and a half but still making it back to the Atwood Empire on her own is an achievement. Ogras overcoming that goblin trying to posess him while stealing every treasure inside the dimensional seed is an achievement. That archer in the Atwood Empire who keeps surviving all these suicide missions with Zac, reaching Hegemony in two decades all while managing to have a loving wife and child on Earth. Is an achievement. Hell Zac hasn't even been able to do that last one. Every women he gets interested in is either killed, traumatized or kidnapped. These are achievements. Some people like Theya, and I'm happy for them. Since instead of skipping sections of chapters like me. They get to read up on what's happening to a character they like. But don't try and lie to me by saying what Theya did was an accomplishment. She was finally given a challenge to take on by herself. A chance to really cement herself as an individual in this story. Only to be kidnapped and saved thanks to her connection to Zac. That's not an achievement.

Darnell Maxwell

Hmm? When did she say his Dad is dead? She said that connection wasn’t something Zach could rely on

Ormond S

Theya has already accomplished a hell of a lot more than Cho. Surviving the hellhole that was that c-grade continent is a good achievement.

Ormond S

I don’t see anything to indicate that the primordial has a splinter of oblivion, rather than having simply eaten the existence of the monarch. It seems to be a Taotie, so that would be well within its capabilities.

Luke Scheffe

Not really. He wasn’t placed here by the system. That was all Leandra.

Luke Scheffe

Nope the Dao of Dissapointment

FarStryder

All a part of the Dao of the Cliff!

Sirloki

He is normally later on Fridays, has a shorter chapter, or moves it Saturday. Pretty common for Fridays

Crown Red

Gonna be interesting to see if Zacs two "teachers" will meet eachother in the next splinter and shard vision. Though based on previous visions, it will probably be separate visions. Not clear if they know they have the same pupil, it sounded more like they knew the other had a pupil but identity unclear.

A D

No, we'll get a ch today and all week week unless something changes. His break is after Christmas.

Lex Luther S

I got an alert from this comment and was excited for a moment thinking it was the new chapter. Sigh, back to impatiently begging for my fix.

Michael Fannon

Hi, is there no chapter on the 15th?

Josh Ewart

Since I'm currently just waiting for the next chapter, I've just been thinking, and now, I'm wondering if the Primordial is going to get a Shard too. Zac has not faced anyone else who is able to wield Chaos, and I don't know how if the Shards and Splinters would really be able to survive in Zac if only one side achieves atavism at a time. It is implied that Zac will gain control if he survives atavism though, so I can see him keeping whichever side is still in pieces safe.

Tyler

I need to cancel this and come back after a couple months so I don't feel like a junky refreshing this page every 15 seconds.

C Smith

True butt I'm hoping it's taking soo long b/c TFD is going to release a Kracken of a cliff.

Mike Naka

If it is oblivion, atavism here we come. Or maybe we get atavism first, and then primordial has trump card negated

Stephen Taylor

Didn't they say there can be only one void emperor per Era. Which was kraz for this Era. They also talked about not being able to pass on the blood line. And Zacs had to be corrupted/inverted for him to get it right? Comet guy was sucking stuff up with the void emperor bloodline nodes right? So comet guy couldn't have been Zacs dad. Since he couldn't have the void emperor blood line. It had to have been Kraz or someone from an earlier Era. Right or did I miss something?

C Smith

I think all the early chapters have gotten us spoiled. Still refreshing every few minutes

Michael Fannon

chapy?

Indy

Sighhhh???

FarStryder

Personally, I like Thea. I think she’s an understandable character that people just don’t like because she’s sort of a normal human

Blake Noyes

She didn't use the Splinter to kill Emberstorm. She just ate him. The only time we see her hinted at using Oblivion energy is here, when Thea discussed the entirety of Zecia forgetting about a monarch. The other elemental retainer of the Primordial, who I believe is a Thunderbird or Roc, remembered Emberstorm and had a very visceral reaction to him being punished. He wasn't killed using Oblivion. I don't remember if she killed him and went to pick up the Splinter in the same chapter, but it definitely wasn't implied she already had a Splinter. Edit: I just went and reread chapter 1019 and 1104, and yeah, she should only have one that TFD has shown us.

Tyler

The Primordial trapped and tried to attack Thea because it can sense some sort of fate with Zac in her. The monk leader, Sacred Insight, saves her. They talk about fate for a bit, and then the Primordial tries to attack. The battle is a bit confusing, they always are with Karmic cultivators. Sacred Insight had to break through from Early to Middle D-grade so that he could be strong enough, but the battle seemingly ends in a stalemate. Then Thea and Sacred Insight discuss fate and Zac's actions. Then Sacred Insight reveals big changes to the ladder to Thea, with Zac and Emily at 1st and 2nd.

Tyler

It sounds like the primordial has consumed multiple shards of oblivion and has started to transform. Previously she was on a ship with the kantanu and a few beast alliance retainers. She already had atleast one shard, she used to destroy a disrespectful retainer. She then rerouted the ship to pick up something an old friend had left behind. It was a strong hi t she was picking another shard.

FarStryder

F5 🥲

Chemistrywarrior

Where is my new chapter???

Stefan Muntean

Void Herald was a synonym for Monarch. Probably because in the pre-system time dimension hopping was something only the stronger cultivators could do.

Hartmann

Go Go Gadget F5!

Sirloki

*Chapter follows plotlines that have been building up for years*. People: "just kill off Thea"

Tyler

This is just a wild ass guess, but I think Laondio is an eternal heritance, as in he is a reincarnated being from a previous era. Maybe several eras. Or, he is like the primordial and just blessed by the dao.

Michael Fannon

I did theorize the Primordial picked up a Splinter of Oblivion before, in the chapter she referred to it as a remnant from her old friends I believe. I thought Yselio had Zac's final Shard of Creation, but it seems like it was tainted energy similar to the Lost Plane that he had found. I wonder how Zac's final Shard is actually making its way to him?

Tyler

My personal theory is that Zac will become the heavens and unite Void/Dao in a quantum state like his core to balance the universe since both are needed

Michael

It’s not super clear about those titles, but it seems like they are just the old terms for D/C grade. Not that they necessarily use the void to cultivate

Michael

Yeah, Emily hasn’t gotten a lot of screen time since she was a kid/young adult so I think a lot of people are underestimating just how strong she is now

Ormond S

Also it seems like in the Karz vision, we saw that a lot more people used Void than just him or the Emperor. Maybe there can be only one Void Emperor but there seems to be a bunch of the Void Heralds. We even saw one blessed to be a Peak Void Herald at a young age. This would imply that more people had the bloodline or that it could be taught at least to a certain extent.

Sirloki

Yeah, I don't think this is foreshadowing her death. She's one of Zac's earliest contacts/karmic links. She has been in his wake since the beginning. She's his disciple. She specifically chose abilities early on intended to both imitate and complement Zac's path. I've been waiting like 10 books for an Emily/Zac team up where she just chucks buffing tomahawks at him as he takes down a boss. She's a badass, and now the sector knows it.

xlinkedx

Right. Laondio's fate ability could be an advanced version of Zac's monstrous luck stat

Sirloki

Everyone wants Zac to peirce or block or break or fight the Terminus. Zac ain't going do any of that. He's going to eat it.

Michael Fannon

I disagree. Mainly because of Eoz. Twice now, he has reached Zac through time from before the system, so any effect that would have on Zac's fate should have happened before Karz and Laondio made the system. My theory is that the inversion is an accidental outcome of several events. First is Zac and Leandra surviving the system. I think this occurred because that heavenly lighting is void based and Zac's bloodline allowed them to survive, though by affecting the bloodline to be more in tune to the void. Next is getting Eoz's bloodline. The Draugr seem to be children of a natural treasure equivalent of an eternal heritage, and one that is connected to the void at it's depth and the lost era. It is also possible that Zac's bloodline purified the Eoz's bloodline enough to fully connect to the void. This is what I think inverted his bloodline. It is only after this that the system started leading him to the remnants, and he didn't awaken his bloodlines until after this, so it showed up corrupted when it appeared on his status. This also feeds into my theory that the previous era of chaos was only possible because chaos cultivators also cultivated the void. It was zac's void connection that caused the system to begin pushing Zac on the pash of chaos, not his 2 bodies or undead side.

Michael Fannon

So Karz kicked it off, and Zac will end it. The Terminus beckons

xlinkedx

Shifty monks being shifty. No clue why yet, but it has something to do with Zac. I originally thought it was to have influence over the restored peak of chaos, but now it might be trying to learn how Zac can move unbound by fate or karma. Or might be something else. Probably something else.

Michael Fannon

So far, based what we have seen, seems like inverting Zac's bloodline is intentional. Probably by design of Karz. There are few scenarios why he wanted this: 1. most unlikely he simply wanted descedant as a backup if his and Laondios plan to create system went not exactly according to plan. 2. Karz trully "betrayed" Laondio and tried to use technocrats to stop his mad endeavour and Zac was backup to reincarnate if something wen wrong simmilar to that buddhist guy. Well it failed in the end kinda. 3. Because heavens are incomplete Void and Limitless emperrors decided to speed up restoration of heavens using system, but in order to make sure no such thing as death of dao occures they needed system to encompass not just heaven, but it's fundament the void sooo by clever faith , fate and unga bunga magic they got the strategy to create the one who can accomplish this. If you observe a bit you'll see that in a sense Zac is some kind of combination of Karz's and Laondio's abilitys, latter being kinda passive one. By arranging everything as it is now they not only created someone who naturaly can dabble in void, they also created the only creature that can master and restore the peak of chaos in the era of order. wether this plan is mutually agreed between Karz and Laondio is debatable, one might have used others scheme to counter-scheme.

SandreX

Fulcrums keep popping up. Seems like Karz was the fulcrum of the era and now Zac might have inherited that role, but in reverse?

Michael

She wasn't a damsel in distress in any of those scenarios. She was leading her faction against the undead, yeah she didn't have the power Zac had to be able to close incursions on her own, but thts a far cry from "damsel in distress". Both Zac and Thea saved each other numerous times. She held her own quite well a number of times. She threw herself at his enemies to protect his people while they were "technically" rivals. While leading the charge against the undead hordes, she wasn't being a "damsel in distress", she was upset that instead of doing his job, namely that of protecting the planet and its people, he was off training, so she was losing family and friends to buy time for the planets strongest member to get back. That's not a damsel in distress, that's a general pissed that Master Chief is off elsewhere instead of focused on the mission.

Darthnarciss

Don't think it was Aether lord since the unique facial features he has Im sure would have been described during the vision if it was.

Hms

Seems visions outside of the remnants are people he has some sort of direct connection with and comet guy was only one that I can see as possible dad. Could be that the bleeding out is only needed for extreme situations and works on whatever void heart can't handle or before it is awakened. Idea Karz is comet guy also plausible since I think there is a connection to comet guy and the void.

Hms

Emily is no pushover, she has been training since she was a kid and constantly sought out challenges. When she was with Big Axe she was thrown into many live-and-death battles also being stranded without support. Zac wanted her to let go of the support system so she could learn to walk on her own. Then when the war started she was one of the leading figures throwing herself into battle after battle and actually being the first to obtain a major command. And has been fighting ever since. This was when Zac was still in the PV so she was on her own.

Johnny_B

That primordial is ridiculously OP, the Author is going to far with this!!

Stefan Muntean

And people like Theya. My point still stands. Also to be clear I don't hate Cho as much as I hate Theya. At most I dislike her. I've just explained my hatred of Theya so many times that I feel the need to start changing up my explanations. If people still don't understand why certain characters in this story are disliked/hated. Clearly I'm not doing a good job explaining it. Or they aren't reading my comments. Both are possible.

Darnell Maxwell

Well then Zac is just as bad. He's been saved multiple times in this story as well. Seems strange to just single one person out for this. And she has helped save him multiple times and almost died fighting to save his city and people.

Well she is correct then

Tomer Yud

The primordial is not signed up in the ladder. She considers it playing the false heavens game.

Victor

Anybody has any idea what Nutzu meant by saying "He could be a plant."?

SandreX

Karz is likely sorta alive. Pretty sure he was turned into the system. And Sender heavily implied the system is conscious since they liked to reminisce together. As far as the inverse of Zac's bloodline, I think it wasn't planned by anyone. I think it is because the heavenly lighting is an expression of void that primed his bloodline, while Eoz bloodline has connections to the void and fully inverted it.

Michael Fannon

No. Karmic links help direct fate, but Zac has been ignoring fate for a long time before D-grade. I think it is a mixture of his inherent void nature and cultivating chaos. This would also offer another explanation of why the monks want Zac. I have been assuming it was to direct the path Zac takes in regards to life and death, but now I'm thinking it has more to do with his void nature and karma avoidance. They seem to want to minimize Karmic ties here after all.

Michael Fannon

Pretty sure comet guy was Karz, just at a higher level then we've seen so far. Peak C or early B grade I'm guessing, since he was only decouring solar systems and not entire galaxies at that point.

Michael Fannon

Unless his appearance was transformed by his affinities. Or he was just doing some general shapeshifting. That could have disguised him.

Luke Scheffe

Thought he was an Aether Lord and Bezi Umbri'Zi's husband. He's the one Zac has visions of from the Creation shards.

Mike Naka

I still think it's going to be an Iz, Zac, Primordial showdown for the inheritance and Zac'll save Iz's life, tying the Tayns to Zac and helping him protect the inheritance. Iz will take the highest Flamebearer inheritance, but there'll probably be a hidden inheritance for Zac. The inheritances in Brazla are C grade entities. I think Zac and crew could use the Ultom inheritances to break into C grade and above. That is if I understand what the Ultom inheritance is. With Zac's luck, he may even be able to turn the Ultom inheritance into another heaven, but I forget my lore about them.

Mike Naka

She did go to the tower, I think she got almost as high as Thea thanks to Zac's treasure. But I agree, could be a little foreshadowing of her inevitable death due to not having enough fate to survive in Zac's wake.

Honestly worried for her, I don’t think she even went to the tower of eternity. I remember her saying she took out some hegemons while in space, but that isn’t a ladder fight. I vote Emily and Zac go to Big Axe and have a gladiator fight

Salvo

Is anyone else wanting him to say, "deep breath... Zac, I am your father." ?

Chloe

When they all show up, Thea and Iz fight, Zac embodies the underpants gnomes stealing a pair from each... Profit! Ogras complains, Catheya asks... psst where's that hunk Arcaz? The monks are brought to heel by Zac's friend Everlasting Peace who has them just buzz off and meditate. Speaking of... is it the Left Imperial Palace like right and left? Or is it like the left one like the remaining imperial palace. Inquiring minds wanna know.

Chloe

Book 9: ch 17

Amani

I think some people are confused, thinking that Zac’s father has the void bloodline.. he doesn’t he’s a descendent but they had to awaken the bloodline through the experiment to get Zac. Plus I think people believe that they are multiple Era’s… don’t forget what the twilight spirit said, that little time has passed to say that Katz Era is different than Zac’s. They are in the same Era. That is why his bloodline is inverse, and since they can only be one that means that Katz is alive….

Amani

Everlasting peace was the monk from earth yes. As for monarch, where did you see it said he was a monarch?

Lex Luther S

Well, with such a massive lead on arcaz there's really no way for him to catch up to zac in time for ultom. Both arcaz and zac are on the Frontlines meaning zac will be fighting and racking up merit just as fast as arcaz unless arcaz stumbles into a massive opportunity like this though very doubtful as the next opportunity for such merit would be the beacon and those foreign gods. As for the primordial, we truly know very little of her to assume it's oblivion she's using, it could just be a unique effect of her bloodline or bloodline skill that erases what was eaten.

Lex Luther S

The one per era was according to the founder; it seems karz is the Supreme ancestor.

Lex Luther S

She killed a wandering monarch. Even if we assume this was the weakest monarch with only one dao and they maybe had a few levels on em as well as all peak D grade skills, to be able to kill them even with her bloodline proves how broken it and this ugly beast are. Which is why I think the void emperor bloodline will be a meal she won't be able to eat🤣🤣

Lex Luther S

Doubtful; as we've seen through one's providence and fate, those with something busted always seem to bring themselves into Autarchy or Supremacy and I'm rather confident every void emperor before karz reached Supremacy. You're right they might not have been trying to build their own personal heaven and break through the terminus but given what we've seen so far, it's almost like predestination for a void emperor to have that potential. Especially more so given only one is born per era, that would have to ensure some incredible opportunities and luck, like fate itself is helping. Or, maybe you're right and karz is the first void emperor to reach Supremacy and have the potential and drive to break apart the terminus.

Lex Luther S

Was he the dad though? The way he absorbed and bleed himself is eerily similar to zac when he's purging gunk through void heart.

Lex Luther S

"The most shocking fact was a little-known Everlasting Peace shared." - Everlasting Peace shard.

Oldfaithful

After how many times Zac’s “unnaturally monstrous constitution” and healing rate have been mentioned, I’m beyond intrigued to meet his papi

FriendorFo

Lol, which was after the first time he saved her from that same dominator family. Where her guard guy died. She was also kind of in distress fighting the undead army, waiting for Zac to save her, and mad about it, while he was in the tower. I don’t disdain her like Darnell here, but he definitely has a point.

Darryl Williams

I think he’s the monk from the Orom world

Darryl Williams

She also probably assumes Thea died on that planet

Darryl Williams

I don’t think Thea has mentioned her family at all, in any chapter after being … yeeted. I think she wanted to be free of the responsibility. I think she is to be a member of life half of Zac’s cycle. Which the Buddhist will subvert fate, like Boje being turned into a revenant.

Salvo

If it was Karz I think Zac would have recognized him.

On the enemy's side of the ladder, I assume.

Justin van mele

True, but only after Thea already saved him from the actual dominator with her skill, costing her levels in the process.

They will all meet up in the inheritance trial. It’s going to be great drama

Amani

Like her, Ogras, Catheya, and Iz all showing up the same day?

Michael Fannon

Wait, did I read correctly that the Primordial is first on the middle-D grade list? Wouldn't that mean the Kator has been knocked down?

Michael Fannon

The monks are up to something. She has been trying to get on the ladder or send a message but is constantly stopped. And she is going her own path because she is trying to protect Zac from the monks.

Michael Fannon

Just a thought: Iz is supposed to show up a year before the trial. Catheya is supposed to show up a year before the trial. Now Thea might show up soon, possibly a year before the trial. I really want all 3 to show up at the same moment. With Ogras and Emily watching with popcorn.

Michael Fannon

Wow, Emily’s number two!!! That’s a big jump in notoriety for her. Great chapter I’m glad Zac is not the only person that’s going to be going against these enemies that were introduced.

Amani

I believe the beast alliance brought the primordial out of stasis to participate in the trial.

solodagod 23

He originally had the alter ego Arcaz Black as the persona for his Draugr side. The Umbr’zi “adopted” him. Blackwood was just a mix of Black and Atwood.

Henry Wartemberg

Well she gave Zac a quest to go to sanctuary and it sounds like his Dad is probably still locked up there, so... Idk if she wants them to meet but it seems inevitable. Also, yes, I cannot wait for them to meet and "accidently" blow up planets together. Well, separated it's planets, together they might bring down entire sectors 😂

Naw brah, Meatball will be smitten with Zac! Best love quadrangle. Zac,Iz, Cathaya, and Meatball

Thanks for the chapter.

Joshua Little

I loved those comet guy visions. I couldn't stop from imagining them like a hardcore metal music video with Zac's Dad (if it's him) rocking the horns 🤘 while eating solar systems. So metal.

They don't need Zac to create a Void System because he is the Void System, opposite to Karz. His void heart is what processes the void. He was the one who could process the lake water, essentially erasing the dead dao. So I agree, the System dumps its waste to the Edge, and I think that most likely when that waste builds up, that triggers the collapse of an era. At least that's what I think. And if Zac could process that waste instead (just like with the lake water), Eternity could be accomplished. Because the era would no longer end. Everyone talks about true eternity, and that might be stopping the destruction and rebirth of eras. And in theory, Zac and the System could be in perfect harmony, if he ever gets that strong. I actually like that theory. And it would makes sense why the System keeps trying to stuff him full of treasures. It is all speculation tho.

orc

Watch the Harry Potter Movies or read the books. Then when you finish releasize that Cho Chang got to live while characters like Lupin and Cedric Diggery had to die. Theya is Cho Chang in this scenario. A largely pointless character serving as a love interest for the mc. Most of her scenes show her in a negative light and opportunities keep getting given to her due to her relationship with Zac. While likeable characters like the Valkyries and Joanna keep getting fucked over by the writer. That's the simplest way I can put it.

Darnell Maxwell

I get it, but let's be real, everyone is just +1 before Zac or just his food. Well it's respectable that she wants to pave her own path and in that sense Leandra was right. She should go as far asay from him as possible. Which is sad, because I really liked her, even if she needs to be flashed out a bit more. Both Zac and Thea seemed similar in a sense, like both are introverts and really loyals, but burdened with responsibilities and secrets. Would have been nice to have reall talk between them about, well them and their relationship.

SandreX

Every time. I get not liking a character. But every time they get even half a chapter going straight to the comments to tell everyone how much you hate her and how much you yawn and skip those parts? I don't get how they don't see that as rude to the author.

Salohcin

Thea was feeling overwhelmed by Zac, she didn't want to be a +1, she wanted to stand on her own 2 feet beside him not riding his coattails. To succeed or fail by her own merits. Remember, her family knew about the system before the integration, she at least has an inkling of what it will take to become strong enough to actually matter in the universe and also knows there's still decades to go before the Earth's veil is removed.

Darthnarciss

The Ancient Primordial AKA "The Meatball" was a Primordial Being who was born at the early stages of the Era, even before the formation of the Limitless Empire, as such she has an intimate connection with the Ancient Heavens and its fate. Despite being a Supremacy she wanted more, but beating supremacy ain't easy, so she killed herself and seal her soul into reincarnating into a vessel that was kept by the Beast star Alliance until such time an opportunity to surpass Supremacy showed up. I don't know what Ultom has that got the Alliance going all out, helping the Kan'Tanu and awakening her but she's here and she seems to have a Luckdar of her own, a shitton of strength a big understanding of the Dao and apparently an Oblivion Weapon. She also loves eating her enemy the first one being Emberstorm who was supposed to be her helper but he challenged her and she got hungry.

Omiso

Yes, all of the his risen generals took Blackwood I believe

Darthnarciss

I mean, you're assuming every other void emperor had the same goals as karz. There's no reason to assume that every one of them wanted to rebuild all of the peaks. And in something is chaotic as the multiverse, we have no idea how many of them died a long time before they could have accomplished such a thing. Just because there's one every era doesn't mean that every one of them ascended to great power.

Salohcin

Remember, she specifically made Zac think that she had killed Thea.

Darthnarciss

I seriously do not understand the Thea hate people have.

Darthnarciss

Yeah seems like Zac's dad has some sort of conflict with the technocrat faction caused by Leandra. I'm more curious about that but on him being unkillable, sounds very intriguing

Lucas Gulick

When was Thea ever a damsel in distress before to make you say "again like usual"?

Darthnarciss

Thea is acting weird again. Does she want to return to her family or not? I understand situation with Zac, it's been too long and he thinks she is dead, but it might also be she deluding herself to not get her heart broken. I don't know. Buuut what about getting back to earth to her family, doesn't she want to help her people? She is one of the most powerful cultivators of earth, she could lead armies, save god knows how many lives

SandreX

The cinder block doesn’t fall far from the cement truck?

Alexander Dupree

Okay Zac's dad seems interesting, probably he has no idea if his child is even alive. Wonder what happens when he meets him and hears his exploits. He'll be like " that's ma boi" 🤣 Also is it just me or it seems Leandra really doesn't want Zac to search his dad?

SandreX

Yep comet dude from the vision was the dad. Being unkillable seems consistent with that ability to extricate anything harmful by cutting himself. Question is how will Zach react when he finds out his dad didn’t willingly give him up. Also seems the assist from the technocrats was indeed from a family member. Curious how many levels his void power actually has and what his current power allows him to punch up to.

Hms

Pretty sure the key they were referring to was the [Foreign Gods] tome and a compass that he got at the last second in the Tower on the Sindris' clan's tip.

darkkingrayley

Can someone refresh me on the primordial?

C Smith

HOORAY THEA IS BACK!

Alexander Dupree

Zac came up with it. Maybe to differentiate between his living and undead children :d

SandreX

Yeah, i know she wasn't the most popular character in the past, but I like what the author is doing with her now. I would be interested to get another character's perspective of her, which I'm sure we will get with Zac soon. I hope the author does something unexpected with their reunion.

darkkingrayley

Ever since Zac entered D grade and cannot form karmic links doesn't this mean that predicting his fate like these fuckers keeping trying to do is much more unreliable than they seem to think it is?

Kevin Albers

I think the father story line is a great opportunity to really get more depth to Zac as a character. Robert and him obviously had a real close father/son connection yet we don't have a lot of backstory on that. It would be cool to see those topics touched on more with a father storyline, without losing on the progressive nature of the plot.

darkkingrayley

Karaz who else would it be.

C Smith

I need a pov of Maseri finding out about Zac,

Evan Therrien

Maybe? Where did the Blackwood come from? I forget.

Kristian Holvoet

Zac is awesome.. Zac is great.. He is powerfull and he have an amazing bloodline... And if he meet the primordial he will be turned into Zac-snack.. because Zac aint anywhere near being able to threaten a Monarch yet.. even a weak wandering frontier one. Ahh well.. lets see where the next 2 years of mad fighting, looting and exploding random shit gets us :) EDIT: it struck me that Zac is already a snack.. at least in the eyes of the large number of single women in the Zecia sector that have put out a bounty for his contact details.. ohh and ofc his GF... but.. you get what I mean...

Kharas

Vilari's last name was blackwood I thought.

Michael Fannon

Poor Emily is going to be targeted by everyone now and she isn't an unkillable void monster that is the apparent son of an unkillable insane supremacy. And yes, I think Zac's dad is a supremacy.

Michael Fannon

Well.. Unless the tree then explode.. along with the hill its standing on.. Then the apple might get thrown a bit off a distance.. where it lands near a small village.. that then get blown into tiny, tiny pieces and spread out far and wide over the nearest continent.

Kharas

Hmm. Vilari not in top 10? And I wonder how Thea would have reacted to ‘Vilari Atwood’

Kristian Holvoet

Maybe an old theory is correct, and each heaven is just plastered over the remains of an older one. Every universe, something like the system shows up utilizing the void emperor bloodline and takes over. Then the next universe is based on a different peak and the old heavens become incomprehensible. A chaos based heavens can’t be understood by order based beings.

Luke Scheffe

Tftc! Queue all the people that get unreasonably upset every time Thea appears

Blake Noyes

Let’s all take a second and remember Leandra failed to mention Thea, and lied about Zac’s bio-dad being dead. And blew up her communication device! She’s the worst schemer.

Salvo

The monsters from the great wall? Horrible movie, but amazing action scenes.

Michael Fannon

Clearly, it wasn’t from lack of trying. He’s almost as much his father as Robert was, considering he has had to be imprisoned to keep him from trying to find him.

Luke Scheffe

So, anyone else think the primordial is a Taotie?

Luke Scheffe

Wasn't Abbot Everlasting Peace the monk from earth that went went with the sangha? Why is he a monarch now? Or maybe this is a typo?

Gervel Giva

“It's because they never visit the Edge any longer. Someone should drag them out there and have them face the beyond. Our end. That'll help them remember why we chose exile." The System dumps waste somewhere, Eras end when Heaven collapses under its own weight, and Karz would have tried to subvert Laionaido’s plan if only to preserve himself. I propose that the ultimate goal is to end the cycle of rebirth that defines each Era, and the System trying to learn Chaos is a function of needing to break the natural order. The Terminus Council might be like a planning committee that decides what Daos to add to the system’s construction, to prevent its premature collapse and the end of the era. So Laionido’s original plan might’ve been to recycle the waste like Karz does, but Karz didn’t go along with it and instead it’s just been building up the Void. If this is all true, then then I see Zac having to choose either to create a Void System with his mom’s help or give the System access to the Void and allow it to recycle the waste.

Telewyn

Well I see Zac got his blowy blowy self from his Dad who happens to be unkillable. Ha what a family tree. And I'm happy to see the Attwood Empire starting to grow in strength and notoriety in Zecia

Sprightly Ebbie

Well, you know what they say; the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Lex Luther S

“He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn’t your daddy.” Robert may be his chosen dad but this is his father.

Evan Therrien

Definitely Zac's dad.

Michael Fannon

Karz. And the one per Era was according to Karz. So completely possible he was just lying.

Michael Fannon

Guy almost blew up the home of the sanctuary that not even the system can touch. Sounds like Zac's real dad to me.

Michael Fannon

The Undead Empire are going to demand Arcaz to step up the pace, once he reaches 1st, Zac will find something else and get 1st, creating a vicious cycle of fate screwing everyone's plans. Also good job whoever said the Ancient Primordial got a splinter of oblivion, it might even be the one from the oblivion dragon Zac saw in his visions, this hedges the chances of a fight between Arcaz and the Meatball before she encounters Zac living body.

Omiso

She's gonna be a damsel in distress again like usual. Then she's gonna leach off of Zac while providing an inroad to the Buddhist Sangha. While Zac doesn't like nor trust him. They hold a large chunk of life attuned treasures in the multiverse. He'll need to go to them to get more for his body tempering method. Then when he finally decides to visit one of their bases Theya will begrudgingly become a part of his army. And be a defender of Earth. Occasionally she will end up leaving the planet to either get captured, lost in a mystic realm or serve in some scouting unit with Joanna and the Valkyries.

Darnell Maxwell

So Zac's daddy is an unkillable lunatic who almost blew up a cornerstone fortress of all technocrats just bc he got dumped? ... Yeah, that tracks.

Thank you!

Andrew

Let's see... technocrats talking about the mission. And two paragraphs in I've already forgotten which is which. Damn I need to read more Manwha's. I keep mixing up non english names and then getting confused on who's who. Ok so they wanna see Zac, whoa. I knew the bloodline was good but it only being allowed to spawn once per era. That's wild. Stuff happens, vague talk about people we don't know, gonna need to ask someone what this key their talking about is... Ooooh! Zac's dad is strong. Gotta remember that for later. Next part. Oh, a Theya section. Yay. Skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, skip.... There's the ladder! Yes Zac made it to first!!! That's our boy! Holy shit Emily is second! Go general Larkin! Aaaaaand... I FUCKING CALLED IT. I literally said last chapter Arcaz would be 9th. Let's go! And were back to Theya soooooo. Skip, skip, skip, skip, skip..... Read the last sentence just to get a clue about the next chapter. Damnit she's coming back. Part of me was hoping somebody would kill her in some battle gefore the trial started. Oh well. Ultom is still 2 years away in universe so I gotta continue enjoying this while I can. Overall solid chapter. Can't wait to see more people react to Zac's placement.

Darnell Maxwell

Desperately need an Ogras pov of seeing Zac AND Emily on top of the ladder now. Additionally, not that I don’t care for Thea, but where exactly does she fit into the story with Zac now? I can’t imagine there still being a deep emotional connection with all the time that has passed and Zac being involved with Catheya (although with the human and Draugr bodies now that might not be an issue?)

Mike

Perhaps the peaks can't be embodied until they are rebuilt? We know a couple have been over the years, but several are still broken. You can embody something if you can't truly see it. So embodying a broken peak would likely disrupt the balance

Owen Kaz

Of there can only be one per Era, I wonder who the first guy was that we saw in Zac's first bloodline vision for his void heart, the Chad riding an asteroid eating stars

Is it just me or is this chapter a little short

Ben Sagbo

Well not true father. Better to say biological father.

Michael Esparza

Interesting. So there can only be one void emperor per era; it speaks of just how BUSTED that bloodline is, but it also brings so many new questions into play. If karz wasn't the first void emperor, then why has the terminus not been destroyed already? Karz wanted to embody the 17 peaks, and as zac put it, make himself his own heaven and breakthrough the limits so the big question is why karz and the other void emperors over the eras couldn't. Was it because karz was born too early into the era of order? Or does the eras building blocks matter as well? Maybe every era has a dao that becomes like a paradox like the Dao of chaos is in the current Era or maybe this is the first era such a thing has happened. Karz saw that his path to building his own heaven would fail as well but through laondios' mad idea of the system, saw a way for chaos to be brought forward in an era where Chaos is a paradox that shouldn't exist and maybe that would be the key to shattering the terminus. But holy hell man this primordial is way to fuckin OP, killing even monarchs? It's certainly her busted bloodline doing the work and there has to be a price for it but still doesn't change the fact she'll be a danger to zac. As for zac throwing a big mountain in the lake and causing fate to run amok, well, what can I say except, as expected of the deviant asura, chaos taken form of a man, where fate, destiny and the so called natural order mean nothing to one whom paves his own path. Edit: seems zacs old man is an unkillable lunatic........ zacs insanely durable and moldable constitution and literally clawing himself back from the dead as a baby..... yeah that tracks.

Lex Luther S

Really glad to be getting Thea back in the story!

Michael Esparza

yeh it must be especially painful for zac to progress in his dao if he needs to maintain balance between the 3. having an earthly dao and 2 branches might give him additional problems. but maybe as long as the 3 daos are balanced when he takes the step to middle is what matters and he can have them unbalanced until he takes the next step to high?
