Changes at Younow
Added 2020-04-13 21:32:28 +0000 UTCSo over the last couple days i have been dealing with a vague email I had received from Younow. As you know I am a Younow Partner which means they lay me a set amount to go live once a week and then a bit of money per new user that signs up during my lives. I agreed to be a Younow Partner because I hadn’t tried livestreaming and the contract was a month to month basis so I knew if things weren’t comfortable I could leave the contract. Basically Younow has changed their partner agreement effective immediately so that there is no set fee and the amount they pay me oer new user is lower. Basically, im making 1/3 of minimum wage in my state for two hours lives.
The money isnt the main point here though. I’ve really gotten into livestreaming as it’s a new way to get involved with my audience, particularly in simulcasting to Youtube.
I will continue to go live on Younow for the month so that i reach the minimum payout requirement so Im not leaving the amount I have earned behind, but after that, I will be doing lives on Youtube most likely exclusively until I find anothrr avenue that I prefer. Patrons in the $5 and $8+ tiers please continue to submit topics for lives even as we move exclusively to Youtube as they are much appreciated. Based on the last live, we do have to keep the topic off of the virus because the video was demonetized. Im not concerned about that, but if I am worried it could affect the monetization of my videos if the lives continue to get demonetized.
Thank you.

After younoe you may want to look at twitch or mixer mixers awesome because it has a much lower stream latency about 4 seconds vs YouTube's and twitches 15ish
