[Background Art] Black Dog

Now this background artwork post was actually intended to come out with the background blog on Black Dogs from black month but this time we decided we needed a little more time to get the character finished before showing it to all of you so we released the Shu-Chi artwork instead.

Now without further ado, let's get into the design of the character mentioned back in this background blog.

Here's some of first iterations for the design of Black Dog from sometime in 2017.

Coming to the end of 2018 we had started work on the second iteration of Carmacks and along with it came a new revision with Black Dog's design.

Most recently this month we started work on finalised sprites for the characters to use in Carmacks. Originally this resulted in the above image, which if you refer is the most similar to the lineart shown in the Black Dog background blog. However, there were a few changes we wanted to make still. (which as you can imagine, contributed to the delay in getting this background artwork post out)

And now here's the final sprite artwork for the black dog character in Carmacks. We hope you can all agree he's quite handsome despite his scars. We hope to be able to share a little bit more of him in the future when Carmacks is announced.
