Not sure if any of you have heard but Youtube is changing alot of their rules and such and has already started deleting videos and taking away monetization from channels. So far I havent been affected, I probably wont have any videos taken down.
The new rules will be affecting how I’m able to run my patreon however. Yesterday, a creator had their channel demonetized and were given the reason “repetitive/reused content”. Which means either you are uploading the same video multiple times or your content appears to me mass produced by a bot or something.
The creator reached out to youtube to ask how this applied to them as they never reupload and they post vastly different videos once a week. Youtube got back to them and said that their channel was actually demonetized because they didnt have enough public videos.
Basically, youtube is now demoneting channels who have over a certain amount of unlisted or private videos on their channel. Many people asked what that number of videos needs to be below, and youtube said they can’t give out specifics. Great. Love it. Thanks.
The way i share bonus videos and also early videos is through uploading them to my channel, setting them as unlisted, and sharing the link. Thats the easiest way I have found because patreon as a platform makes sharing videos straight to it difficult.
I am not taking down any content that is already up on patreon. However until I figure out vimeo or another avenue for sharing videos with you that won’t jeopardize the main Swell Entertainment channel, a pause will be put on bonus content. Early access to videos will still be available as they don’t stay unlisted any more than 48hrs max.
Now this could take me a day. I really don’t know though so if you would like to pull pause or remove yourself as a patron I understand.
