Sneek Peek of Project Aklavik

Dear Patrons,

About two months ago we did a small poll on twitter, asking if our fans are interested in card games. The result was positive so we decided to move forward with a little project we were working on.

As this is the first time we're doing a physical card game, we're planning to launch it through Kickstarter. Not only to make sure we have enough support to get the job done and cover first print run costs, but also to get ourselves familiar with the global crowdfunding culture. Because you know, something much bigger is coming.

Aklavik is a team-based card game for 3-8 people, wherein the game players must summon heroes from the past to fight in trials. The game rules are simple and we will release print & play documents online so you may try the game before the real cards arrive. (Once you know the rules you can also substitute two decks of poker cards and put notes on them. This is how our development on the game started after all.)

The starter pack of Aklavik will contain six heroes, and we plan to release at least two expansion packs containing six heroes each. The card artwork of each expansion pack will be completed by a different artist so each pack is unique. Furthermore, we plan to include the first two expansion packs in the starter pack if the stretch goals are met during the crowdfunding campaign.

And for last, all patrons who pledge at the Welcome Home tier before the campaign begins are eligible for a standard edition starter pack of the game, with free shipping worldwide. When the game goes to manufacturing, all patrons of Welcome Home tier will be included in the credits of the first print. (We'll make a post when we send out the surveys.)
