AC33 VLOG DELETED

Hey guys,

One of my new patrons was offended by something I was trying to explain in one of my vlogs. I listened back and I can see why that would be deemed offensive. Something you should know about me if you know me, is that I think out loud and work things out as I talk.

It's also really good timing, because for my die hard fans you know me well and you know that I share everything here, but i am also aware with the way the world is right now, we are all very easily triggered, I am also aware that being in the public eye is not a safe space at all, and so i am grateful for this comment to be more mindful of what I say and share. Who knows how long this particular authenticity challenge will be around in its original form. I am moving onto new waters, have been for some time, the transition has not been quick, but I can feel things speeding up.

I am always up for harmony, discussion, hearing the views of others and growing, so if you know me you will know I will be the first to suggest a sharing or any way where we can come together peacefully. I am not sure getting triggered and blocking people achieves anything other than setting ourselves in stone, rigid in our triggers and wounds and unwilling to resolve them. For me, especially at this time of awakening, there is no trigger that cannot be resolved if one is willing to focus on peace.

I was talking from the point of view where I live and my experiences with men here on this island, but I can understand that I am not including the men that leave me alone and don't call out to me with unwanted sexual attention, its just that when there are a number that do, it's unfortunate but it can unfortunately make one wary, and it is unfair for the other men that don't behave in this way. But yes, you are right, even if it feels like a majority it is not the case. And I don't know if you listened to the rest of the Vlog but I have a really wonderful community of friends from Ghana and Gambia and am learning so much about their culture and music and loving especially to discover all kinds of reggae I had never heard that they have introduced me too. I consider myself a fairly ignorant person on the subject as i have never visited Africa, so forgive me if my words offended, I have taken the vlog down and will be more mindful of my words in future, thank you for bringing my awareness to it. If you are ever offended by something I say, feel free to challenge me in a peaceful way, i am always up for learning and growing.

Comments

bless you. It was a new patron. When we are offended if we are willing to feel whatever wound is coming up, we discover we have the power to heal our own wounds, which is the only way to have real power, we cannot control what other people say and do. It is or can be really painful to feel our own pain, and so until that time we tend to point fingers at others and say "you are the cause of my pain" and I am going to abandon you because then I can stay angry and not have to go inside and feel my own pain. Anger makes us feel powerful, but it's a false sense of power and underneath is sadness. I am sorry if my comments reminded someone of their pain, it's never nice to be reminded of the pain of feeling misunderstood, of being left out, discriminated against, and whilst it would be wonderful to live in a totally inclusive and loving world, that's just not the case, but we do have control over our reaction.
