Struggling during Quarantine, was not one of mine, and I have a little survivors guilt. i have certainly avoided sending photos like this ( although this was after the lockdown here) to friends stuck in cities like Paris or Madrid, some have been inside for 3 months, only allowed out once a day for an hour. I know it has been a time when families start to go crazy.
What has been going on in America recently just shows us that equality and freedom still do not exist in 2020.
Here in Malta, nudity is illegal, but refusing to give homes to black citizens is not.
It's also not illegal to start construction work on a Saturday at 7am, and I was woken up to cranes and walls being pulled down. I went shopping and I had to put a plastic bag on my foot, despite a nurse assuring me that corona is not transferred that way, when trying on shoes. These are complaints from my day to day life, I work from home, and for the next two weeks will not be able to record vlogs until after 5pm, and the only day I can enjoy tranquility in my home will be Sundays when the builders do not work, and then I have to pray that the minister will stop building works continuing in the summer, or I will have to move house, yet again. I've yet to share the bad news with Marvin; he won't be able to go outside; they turned the large garden into a construction site.
Compared to some of the atrocities going on in the world, I have to remind myself that my problems are very small in comparison. I have more freedom than most, and I chose to be here. I don't know if it exists a country in the world where there is real freedom for everyone...and sadly I feel it is only going to get worse.
