KA Sounds v0.1 (BETA)

Hi! Here Alex.

Well, let's go directly to what they came from. KA Sounds mod.

This version of the mod (v0.1), is in "beta" phase. The idea is that you test the sounds. So here the important thing: if there is a sound that you hear badly, that has some distortion, a lot of background noise, is not heard, or another problem, let me know.

The sound mod will be upgradeable, or so I want.

What does this mean? Basically, I will be updating the mod over time, the idea is to do it every week. I will put/replace sounds.

Replace? Yes. The idea is that, when a sound is wrong, replace it with a similar one; if it's a gunshot sound, I'm going to replace it with a different gunshot sound, if I replace it with another sound, in the old scenes if by some chance that sound is in that scene, a different sound would be heard, and we don't want that.

The mod works in both HS2 and AI. I did a test in AI without studio mods (I don't have hard disk space) and the sounds worked. It should literally work on both of them the same way.

What is KA Sounds mod?

Basically it is a mod that adds sounds only for the studio. I think that explaining the mod taking into account the title of the mod is a bit strange, but ok. I always wanted a new sound mod, where I add many sounds not only for animated scenes but more than anything for the environment.

I always wanted the studio to be full of sounds. But it doesn't have many to say. The default sounds that come with the studio I don't like very much, and they are very few. I think, it was missing the sounds because, in the real world, it is full of sounds everywhere, whereas in the studio, in a scene, there is infinite silence. For that reason I would like to put sounds, so that the scenes have a touch more of realism.

Features of KA Sounds

LOOP

Some of the sounds are in the form of "loop", that is, when a sound begins, it reaches its end and begins again, in the same way.

As I said before, some of the sounds are looped, not all of them. There is a good variety of non-loop sounds (you have to turn it off and back on to play again). Therefore, in this particular case, the VNGE and/or Timeline is really necessary.

Sound Off/On

This is important, and clearly something basic. You can select a sound in the scene and turn it off like this:

You can also select several items at once, and disable them at once.

But, there are other ways to turn off the sound automatically. Although this way I will have to explain how both VNGE and Timeline works. Basically there are two plugins, which you can animate EVERYTHING. If you know these plugins and used it, great. If you don't know these plugins, well, will I have to do a tutorial then? Comment if you want.

Real 3D Sounds

What's this? Summarizing. The sounds that are in the game when you put them in a certain position, for example, on the right side of the scene, are heard only on the right side. While in the sounds of KA Sounds, let's say, 100% is heard from the right side and 50% from the left side, in this case. If the sound is to the left, then it will be the other way around.

I also have to explain that the sounds cannot be modified neither in volume nor in distance, they have their own volume and distance:

The volume is adjusted to be heard well with other sounds.

The distance is already different. Each sound has its certain distance, also depending on which sound it is; if it is a sound of a telephone, the distance is "short", while if it is a sound of rain, the distance is "long".

Names

The sounds clearly have names, but after the names they also have letters and numbers.

The letters indicate that it is a similar sound.

The numbers indicate a variety of sound.

To search for sounds you can do two things: you can search for them in the item browser or you can go to the item list and search at the bottom of the list.

Compressed sounds

The sounds, that is, the files weigh as little as possible. The mod is going to be updated, and I don't want people to have to download heavy things, right now it doesn't weigh that much, but the idea is to add hundreds or thousands of sounds, so in the future, it may weigh.

All the sounds are in .wav (much better quality than an mp3). If I put mp3, in addition to having worse audio quality, the loops would not work properly (they cut).

Well, we go to FAQ:

Q. Why are some sounds loud?

A. I think the answer is simple, the sounds are not mine. They are compiled from the internet, so some sounds will sound bad.

Q. How should the mod be used?

A. This is a question from me. When you make a scene, you put a map, characters, objects, etc. And there is always variety of something. So, if you are going to use the sound mod, don't just put one sound, put several. When you have more than one sound, the sounds blend together and make the scene more realistic. But don't put too many, or instead of hearing sounds it will be all noisy.

Q. What if I find a wrong sound?

A. If you find any sound (which it probably does) that has: a lot of noise, distortion, low volume, it doesn't sound directly. You can report it on my discord server Komadreja. My discord is for that, I don't want them to be reported here on patreon or in the community discord either, I want to have a place where those things can be done, discord is that place.

Q. Is VNGE or Timeline necessary?

A. Not really. But yes. The sounds that are not the loop have to be activated automatically, so it is very useful when making/being in a scene.

Q. How often will the mod be updated?

A. I will update the mod every week. I'm not going to put hundreds of sounds a week either, it's not that easy. I have to, in addition to finding the sound, edit it. It takes time to find a good sound. That's why there's so much variety in the sounds.

Q. Is there a way to turn the volume down and up or increase the distance or decrease it?

A. I really do not know. If people like the things I'm going to do and if everything goes well, I'll consider paying someone to make a plugin for me. I'm thinking about studying C#, but I don't know if it will happen.

Done, no more questions and answers.

Download and installation

This is simple. I just download and put the .zipmod in the mods/MyMods folder (in Better Repack).

Download (HS2 - AI): MEGA

I'm going to leave a folder with: an old version and a recent version. I will delete the oldest ones.

Next I will put the patreons and discords:

ScrewThisNoise (creator of Better Repack): ScrewThisNoise

hooh (creator of modding tools, tool to make mods): hooh

IllusionSoft discord (community server with illusion games): IllusionSoft

My discord server (mostly to ask questions, make suggestions, report bugs, and see some other progress): Komadreja

I want to thank hooh for creating modding tools. Without this tool this mod would not exist, thanks hooh.

If you want you can see my first patreon post explaining who I am and what I'm going to do: Introduction

Well that's it. I hope you like it and that you do many scenes.

Have a nice day. Enjoy.
