The Banshees, as small and gregarious type of Kaiju that evolved through the absorption of spores, are at the bottom of the Kaiju food chain. They can be found wherever there are corpses. The Banshees have translucent bodies, through which their energy storage organ is visible in their chests. In dimly lit environments, these organs resemble faint glowing dots, akin to fireflies.

Being decomposers, the Banshees secrete a type of energy entity known as 'Ether' to aid in the decomposition of corpses. Once they have absorbed the remaining remains, they generate clusters of fungi.

Because they gather around corpses during feeding, resembling mourners, humans have given them the name Banshees.
