So it occurred to me this would make a great example of what I see verses what you all see.
This is the stitch picture I shared today as seen from a different angle with all the figure elements visable. That’s right, it’s actually three ‘me’s stacked on top of each other. The main body is what you all see, with the full jumpsuit, hair eyes etc, there is a second smaller version that is just the arms and guns that I have aligned with the first body and a little clever positioning of the guns hides any gap you’d see. And the third version is a naked me that exists only because the mermaid lion fish fins are what I recolored ad used for the backspines of stitch. I cannot simply attach them to the models back and so the third one is rendered invisable with the calves lined up to the main model’s back.
From there I then rendered the image twice. Once with and without the spines. After that it’s a simple use of layers in photoshop to only show the spines I want the viewer to see and… tada!
