Lanna sat, and panicked. Gone were the sounds of the kids, long since picked up by their parents. Gone was the magic book, given back to Timmy at the end of the day and stuffed into his backpack that showed he really didn't want his parents to see he had taken it. Gone was Lisa, her co-worker, who stayed half an hour late calling and re-calling Lanna's cellphone which had been been in her pocket when she had been transformed. Now there was nothing but silence, the sound of the clock on the far wall the only sound that echoed inside the box that lanna had been placed in, the hoof of the plastic toy cow obscuring the clock face just enough that she couldn't see the hands. With nothing to do but wait, Lanna began to daydream. Of being turned back, of moving on her own, and oddly, being wound up once again.
