So this is a little behind the scenes look into how I make my animations. Gee we can see the model, (me) as I appear in the recent animation I’ve been working on. Im working on making a more animated march to better show off the jointed appearence of my legs.
But daz is not optimized towards animations. So some stuff happens that makes the appearence of movement much harder, mainly that being small adjustments to the feet with the action of moving the legs. Keeping the feet flush with the floor is one of the hardest parts even before the difficulty of matching movement to motion, and this is why in some of my animations the feet seem to slip across the surface of whatever the model is trying to move over.
To help keep the feet flat, you can see I’ve attached blocks to the bottom of my feet so I can judge angles more easily as the model moves, if only one part of the cube raises I know the foot has become un-level. I will also use the stationary blocks to line up with the blocks on my feet to make sure the feet stay (relatively) in place as I move forward. In the end I’m hoping to get an exaggerated and mechanical marchthat I can loop to create continuous movement without worry of the feet being un-leveled.
