The Merlinian Magic (MCU SI) : Chapter 1

Commissioned by [aroniac] on Patreon

Disclaimer - I don’t own Marvel or any of its characters. The Mighty Mouse does and I hope it is not standing behind me with a shotgun cocked and ready to blow my brains out the second I have the audacity to press PUBLI——

The Story is with a very OP MC. Reincarnated into the body of Merlin (From the Seven Deadly Sins) with the magical power of Infinity. Obviously, there will be changes, least of which is the gender fluidity of that body.

Slightly crackish.

Anyways, enjoy ~

Marvel 6969420 Universe

Stark Tower, Manhattan, New York [2012]

–Ancient One–

The Ancient One stood atop the New York Sanctum, her gaze piercing through the distance, to look straight at the top of the Stark Tower, on the machine that held the throbbing from of the Tesseract.

Her gaze held slight pity for the man who was known as Erik Selvig, knowing that the knowledge that had been forcefully crammed into that man’s mind was something that no mortal was ever meant to have, not in that manner anyway.

Slowly, but surely, the mind known to the world as Erik would break apart, leaving behind just pieces. Moving on from him, her gaze slid to the rapidly approaching form of one Anthony Edward Stark, someone who was, in many ways, the Fulcrum of this timeline.

Her fans, the Merlinian Fans that had been with her since she first became Master hundreds of years ago, folded in on themselves constantly, reflecting her state of anxiety.

Hundreds of years old her body might have been, but her mind was already older than humanity itself. Millions of years of diving into thousands of alternate timelines for every single important decision had made her….tired.

Tired beyond belief, so much so that had it not been for the constant mental rejuvenation provided by the Vishanti, she would have long since made an irrational decision and passed on.

Her breath hitched and her entire form went still when she finally saw the beam of blue, energy so pure it broke apart space without even trying, extracted directly from the Tesseract, punch through an ancient shield of Kamar Taj, before opening a hole straight to the dark parts of the galaxy.

She sighed, shoulders slumping as she turned around and waited in the direction of which she knew she would come from.

On some level, she knew that this decision of hers could be something that would either make or break the future, with all the timelines she saw proving a success ratio of only 70%, a low number for major decisions, than the ones she usually used.

Alas, she was old and while that might have brought wisdom with it, she realised that it had also dulled her edge. She no longer took risks, not as much as she did before, certainly not as much when she first decided to taint her soul with the Darkness of their enemy.

The Vishanti had tried. Oh, how hard they had tried to argue against it. Alas, she was the Sorcerer Supreme, not them, and if they were to dictate the decision of every single Sorcerer Supreme, they might as well have remained on Earth instead of ascending to the higher planes, to become Gods; Patron Gods of Kamar Taj.

There was a reason why the Sorcerer Supreme was always a mortal, for it was deemed necessary for the Sorcerer Supreme to always have the mindset of the people they are supposed to protect with their lives. Otherwise, it would just have been gods playing with ants with an anthill.

Which is why, she did not do anything to stop Loki’s portal from breaking through a single mystical shield of Kamar Taj, one that was so ancient, no one knew how it worked or how to modify it beyond regular serving, the knowledge of which was literally carved into the Eye of Agamotto itself.

Which was nothing. They were supposed to do nothing for the shield but the caster of that spell knew that if people knew about the shield, they would try their best to make sure it was safe, which is why only the Sorcerer Supremes knew why that shield did not need to be touched, at all.

That did not stop past Sorcerer Supremes from being sceptical about it and doing something about that.

Long before she even became a member of Kamr Taj, that shield had been deemed redundant and another, much more powerful shield was placed on top of that, so there were two layers of security for Earth.

What no one in Kamar Taj, aside from the Sorcerer Supremes, knew, was that that ancient shield was linked to a spell that would also dispel itself, releasing a certain past Sorcerer Supreme to the world.

Someone who was a threat and savior of most things on the planet, in equal parts. Someone whose soul was beyond time itself.  Someone whose spell, that ancient shield, worked to this day, only shattering today because it was never meant to handle the might of an Infinity Stone, without any upkeep.

She shivered a bit, equal parts dread, equal parts excitement as she finally felt something snap, something change in the very timeline itself, as a spell linked to a shield that covered the planet broke apart.

A contingency, to unseal the person just in case the planet was in danger, someone who would have been the best person to deal with a siege on Earth but not the best in peacetime. She had let that happen.

She had let Merlin happen, once more.

Within the chest cavity of the Celestial Corpse

–Merlin ??--

His eyes snapped open, flailing about in panic as he saw nothing, felt nothing, only darkness.

What was this? He asked himself.

He did not remember being—

His thoughts screeched to a halt as he realised he could not remember anything. His name? It was on the tip of his tongue and yet, he could not recall it. All he could remember was going to sleep, meeting someone? And then this.

His unending darkness. He could not even feel his limbs or his body, despite his panicked mind sending all the signals for flailing about. It was torture, pure and utter torture, to remain in a sensory deprived state.

Humans were not supposed—

Like a giant piece of glass broke apart, his entire being reverbed with the sound of something fragile breaking apart. The moment after that, a splitting pain bloomed in his head, making him grunt. The pain slowly turned up a notch, until eventually, he felt as if he was screaming his guts out. He couldn’t even hear himself scream as memories began shoving themselves into his mind.

Of Magic?

Of magical theory? Of where he was?

Slowly, after what felt like an eternity even though Merlin’s spell meant it was only a moment or two, the pain subsided, leaving behind a dull headache that was cured by a simple snap of his fingers, casting the simplest hangover cure spell. A personal favourite of his.

His or Merlin’s?

He shook his head, choosing to ignore the existential crises for now, and opened his eyes, revealing darkness once more. Only this time, he knew what it was.

Merlin, being the goofy ball of repressed emotion that she was, had chosen a very ironic place to create his tomb. The Celestial Corpse, sealed deep beneath the poles, below miles and miles of ice.

In some ways, this Celestial was the progenitor of the human race, allowing for humans to have the most malleable DNA on the planet, which is why Merlin could have powers. For the twisted amusement of Merlin, the decision to die in the body of the one being that started it all was worth it.

The memories of this being intended to be the birthplace of the new Merlin also came to the forefront as the last of Merlin’s data download, stopped, leaving behind a hollow feeling for a moment.

He shook his head, the panic from being thrust into the body of a severely overpowered character all but forgotten as he snapped his fingers, illuminating his surroundings. He snapped his dingers once more, dispelling the second Perfect Cube that was superimposed on top of the first one.

He slowly burst out of the chest cavity of the Celestial, the Celestial’s hollow corpse since the lifeblood of this majestic being had already been spread across the planet to water the seeds of life as he knew it.

From comics?

The part of Merlin that came with this body giggled in sheer amusement, to know that someone out there in the wider omniverse was getting amusement from their struggles. TO know that the deepest, darkest secrets of Merlin’s world were laid bare for all to see, for the cheap price of money.

The second he looked around, reoriented himself with the Infinity Compass he had left in some volcano, and snapped his fingers once more, teleporting himself to the compass, his thoughts screeched to a halt.

As he reached down to cast the spell to get the compass out of the now cooled down volcano, his gaze slid to something that probably should have been his first priority when he got the data dump from past Merlin.

Mainly the fact that Merlin was a girl.

A very well endowed girl. Alas, he was a boy and today was not the day he was going to have an identity crisis about his gender. So, the compass forgotten, he spread his arms apart before slapping them together, creating a pink glow around himself.

An Original Merlinian spell, the ability to switch genders at will. The pink glow surrounding him clued him in on the fact that Merlin, using her authority as the Sorcerer Supreme had abused the Time Stone to look into the future where pink was a girl’s color and designed an entire spell around it. Very stereotypical, but then again, this was Merlin he was talking about.

Soon enough, his vision, which was tinged with pink, slowly dispersed to reveal a bright blue. Exhaling, he snapped his fingers once more, as water was extracted from the humid air, quickly creating a makeshift mirror for him. The result was…

“Nice,” He grinned, giving himself a thumbs-up, the inner narcissistic tendencies of Merlin coming right up as he found himself staring at a 6 '2 piece of lean muscle. Mismatching eye colour, pink and blue, along with blonde hair. The wet dream of many college freshmen.

Dispelling the mirror, he dove down and retrieved the Infinity Compass. A corny name for something so important but Merlin had a whole theme going on, about the whole Infinity powerset, an ability so overpowered that Merlin barely had to use it, what with already being overpowered in his base magical stat.

Obviously, he was not so lucky. He got Merlin’s body, the magical knowledge, and even the innate ability Infinity but what made Merlin so dangerous was her mind, the sheer insanity hidden behind those eyes gave every single Demon a pause.

Working on unraveling the Infinity Compass absentmindedly, he wondered if all of this was also a ploy from Merlin because she was just bored? Yes, that would be the right word for how she was feeling when she created that dual layered Perfect Cube along with the time stasis spell.

He had no idea how she pulled his soul out of his world, or if she targeted him specifically or not. He was nobody special in any way. But what he did know was that she considered this funny.

The act of destroying one’s mind, putting parts of it in a blender, to create a smoothie for some poor sod to drink, who must already be overwhelmed being put in a new body, was her idea of funny.

Suffice it to say, people really were batshit crazy back in her time.

He should really work out on what pronouns he should use to call her because she regularly used that spell to have some fun times with both the genders, something he would not be doing anytime soon. He was as straight as they came.

Maybe that was a consequence of immortality, then? That over time, one became so bored that trying out new things, even out of their comfort zone, was the only way they could keep themselves entertained?

Certainly explained the behaviour of Zeus. Or maybe he was just that big of a horndog.

He ducked a bit as lightning suddenly crackled above him, flashing the sky white.

“Oh yeah? Well fuck you too!” He shoved the middle finger in the direction of the sky, grinning as a Perfect Cube manifested in front of his body, just in time to tank a lightning bolt.

As the lightning bolt impotently fizzled against the Perfect Cube, just like the time she(Merlin) trapped Zeus and his goat in a Perfect Cube to showcase to the rest of his pantheon, he grinned toothily, realising that he could get used to this.

With a click, the Infinity Compass came apart, revealing what was underneath, a small ball of white that was also an original Merlin spell, linked to another spell in Kamar Taj, one that recorded–

“Ah, 2012. Just in time, then,” He said to himself, the Compass and the spell disintegrating in his hands as he stopped Infinity from keeping it together. There were a few other doodads that Merlin had hidden around the planet and even in the Nine Realms but for now?

He cracked his fingers, sunglasses manifesting in front of his eyes, as a shroud of blue surrounded him.

“Show time,” With a crack, he disappeared, appearing right above the New York Sanctum.

Looking straight down, he saw the current Sorcerer Supreme, who was looking up at him with a blank look on her face, dealing devastating blows to any Chitauri that had the bad luck of coming closer to the Sanctum, without even looking.

He pointed his two fingers at himself and then at her, in the universal gesture of I’m looking at you before he looked in the distance, where all the fun was happening.

With another flex of his will, he was flying towards the Stark Tower, sound barrier broken instantly, creating a sonic boom. Who needed teleportation if a flashy, loud entry could be had with just 2 times the overall magical consumption?

Not him. After all, worrying about pesky things like magical consumption was for  mere mortals, not for the holder of Infinity.

The fight was still in the early stages, it would seem because only a single whale like thing was in the air, with a tiny man flinging pew pew lights at the thing, which would not work.

Well, fear not, Man of Iron, daddy is here.

Getting up very close to the battlefield, he cocked his fist back, the blue shroud around his body flaring before forming a fist around him.

He grinned as he met the gaze of the no doubt flabbergasted Tony, before punching ahead, while screaming, “I. CAST. FIST~!”

Tony immediately dove out of the way of the giant fist headed straight towards the whale. He smiled as his spell just cleaved through the Chitauri Leviathan, its pained screeches resounding throughout the area, as the fist travelled unbound, heading straight to the portal, raining down parts and pieces of Chitauri all around Stark Tower, as he let his blue aura shimmer down to a full body cloak.

Taking a deep breath, he looked all around the city, reeking of humans, their negative emotions, their negative actions and more. Despite that, that feeling right there was what made him feel alive.

Exhaling, he opened his eyes and grinned, “Good to be back.”

New York Sanctum Rooftop

–Ancient One–

She waited on the rooftop, knowing that the spell had unravelled already. She did not know where Merlin was sealed, or how she/he would be feeling after coming out of a long self imposed hibernation but what she did know was that it should not take long.

The might of Merlin was vast, but her intellect even more. She certainly must have taken steps to ensure optimum performance even after coming out of centuries long hibernation.

Her thoughts were proven correct, as she felt something brush up against the wards of the Sanctum before—

Her eyes widened in awe as what could only be called as the physical manifestation of magic appeared in front of her. The gender and the appearance were meaningless as facets of identity in front of the sheer amount of overflowing magic out of her. There was no doubt in her mind that this was Merlin.

It was overwhelming in a way. She quickly schooled her expression as Merlin looked down at her. She made sure to dispatch any Chitauri that came too close whilst waiting for Merlin’s response as well.

All she got in return was a gesture that was very modern for her but then again, she did have the TIME Stone in her hand at a certain point in time and must have learned modern mannerisms.

The only question was why.

She did not get to see her/him? much because the next moment, a sonic boom echoed around her as Merlin rocketed towards the Stark Tower.

Floating on top of the Sanctum to get a better view, she chuckled as she saw the crudely, as far as magical weapons projection spells went, cast spell cleave through the Leviathan before making short work of all the aliens nearby as well.

It made her sigh in relief to know that Merlin was already helping out the people. That was good.

Much better than what she had expected. Despite this being the result in 70% of the timelines she saw, the fear of Merlin’s whimsical personality made her fear that the reality was turning into the 30% of the futures she saw.

She was glad that she was proven wrong.

Now, if only she could make the Vishanti stop screaming into her ears about how bad of a decision she had made.

What could go wrong with setting free a Master of all sorts of Magic, with an insane affinity towards all magic, an insane mindset, an insane thirst for knowledge, on top of an over the top innate magical ability? Something that made even the Gods fear her?

Nothing. That’s what.

Comments

hahaha, Zeus should really try the other gender before complaining that people call him out for his ways.
