It IS amazing (but not surprising) that you have to tell people to be selfish, serving self interests is supposed to be involuntary. Personally I assume that you wouldn't PUT an idea on your poll unless you were excited to make it! Perhaps its a faulty assumption but it makes voting so much easier.

Eg, I don't think anyone particularly wanted to see "Fandom has a white guy problem" but I reckon a lot of people needed to see it. But that takes an exceptional degree of self awareness. I won't even pretend I'd have it consistently.
