I think where Kendrick excels compared to a lot of rappers is that he puts everything into whatever he does. If it’s a performance, he understands that the fans need to get their money’s worth. I have never left a Kendrick concert where I thought it was okay; I’m always mind-blown. I’ve seen artists where I feel like I needed a refund because they have the backing track do 80-90% of the work.
