MY PWNAGOTCHI

a few days ago i decided to sit down and build the pwnagotchi, something i’ve wanted to craft for the longest time! so excited to share it with you guys!

don’t talk about the shitty photo, i’ll post more pictures when i get my case printed (my printer sucks)

pwnagotchis are best known for capturing handshakes from networks while traveling around (correct me if i’m wrong lmfao), along with other features. i decided to build this for the sake of having fun and learning more about wifi pentesting and the process.

(i also got a pineapple, save me!!)

materials (my personal grabs):

- raspberry pi zero w (with headers already installed because i didn’t have a soldering station at this time)

(raspberry pi zero w2 also works)

- pisugar 2 portable 1200mAh battery

( pisugar 3 and others works as well)

- waveshare 2.13inch e-ink display (V4)

( any versions before 4 can also probably work, V3 as the most popular option (probably a lot easier) )

- 8gb or any micro-sd card of your choice (i suggest something larger for the long run) (i’m just cheap)

building process:

- this took me a while actually, because i think i was using a version 4 waveshare display in comparison to the popular version 3 choice.

- the repository that held the image for pwnagotchi was simply NOT working on me. i used jayofelony’s repo (which was recommended for the V4) and it worked pretty well.

- i found a guide someone had posted on a reddit thread, but i cannot find it. it was a simple step by step instruction guide (since every other step by step was genuinely useless) but it was super duper helpful for me. just don’t forget to create your config file!

- other than that, the setup was quite easy and self explainable!! super happy i was able to build it.

accessories:

- this is super difficult, because i used a really weird combination of materials for my pwnagotchi…. making it extremely hard to find a case that has already been modeled for my dear son >_< so i might just try and make it myself!
